heater stopped working

I bought this car for my High School daughter in the summer....when winter came...we realized the heat would not work. The fan would blow, but it had no hot air. I had the coolant flushed and replaced....changed the thermostat....and then the dealer diagnosed that the accuator's were bad. I replaced two of them and it still would not work. Finally...the problem was diagnosed that a heater door was stuck shut, and that the heater box had to be replaced. I was quoted a price of around 1100.00 to repair. I didn't have the money so decided to repair it myself. Oh my goodness.....this is the worst repair job I have embarked on. I have had to take absolutely everything out of the interior of the dash area. When I finally get to the heater box....it has been somehow been fastened to the bottom heater box which houses the heater core by some plastic knobs being melted to fuse the two parts. THis is almost impossible to separate....the back knobs cant be reached to get unfastened. So then...I decided I had to remove both portions of the heater box to get them separated....so I had to pull the coolant hoses and unfasten the AC hoses to get the box out....and guess what....the AC is still under pressure and the car is not driveable.....just one unbelievable problem after another. Not to mention plastic on plastic doors and break as soon as something gets a little worn. Now on day 5 of repair.....and still not done. $1100 now looks to be a legit price...just unbelievable something this minor has been such a horrible repair.

I went to go to work on one of the coldest days and the heater would not heat up. I had to have the car towed to La'chapelle in hull quebec. I missed work in order to go and get a rental car. It took them over a week to actually fix the problem.
