I was driving home going 65 mph down a major highway on a clear warm night. All of a sudden my 2007 Pontiac G6 pulled to the right and I couldn't correct it. When the car finally responded, I was thrown across the highway into the divider cables. My airbags didn't deploy and the entire front end was crushed. Thank goodness I was not around any of the semi-trucks that came up over the small hill behind me once I limped the car to the side of the road. I had to get the car towed and insurance totalled it out without any testing done. After reading on this site, it's sad to see that I'm not the only one this has happened to. Thank god I was not seriously injured.

My daughter was in an accident on 3/27/2015. She tboned another car totaling my car. The front end was seriously damaged. Neither airbag deployed. She sustained a neck and head injury. Nothing major but could have been more serious. Esis said they will not persue my claim with them any further as I do not have enough proof that their product is defective.

The passenger side airbag indicator light will come on. This has been happening since 2011. I believe this has a correlation with the battery because when the indicator light starts to come on every time I'm driving the car, I know the battery will soon die. I have been through three batteries since owning my car (2010). Once I get a new battery, the indicator light will not come on for a while.

I am the 2nd owner to a G6 have noticed since about a month or so after purchasing vehicle that when turning at slow speeds there is a clanking/banging noise. Have noticed several others mention of this same issue. Now it shows obvious recall for the U joint for this vehicle, yet both dealerships and Pontiac are only saying it is VIN specific which to me is a crock of (you fill in). There is obviously a problem with this yet they want to do nothing. Guess major accidents or death must need to result in order for them to fix the issue. Also at just any random time the airbag warning will just pop up on my dashboard. Vehicle has been in no accidents, so there should be no reason to that just randomly "poppign up" I will be making formal complaints to BBB and national safety website. If you post a recall for a vehicle, it is not VIN specific as they are all using the same parts. Come on GM we are not idiots here!!!!!

I turned into a parking lot not going no more than 15 mph and my tired blew and by the tire blowing it pulled my car into a pole that be in the parking lots and again I was not going more than 15 mph and when my side passengerside struck the pole it deployed my air bags. Noted the car was not hit in the front nor damaged to where the airbags were suppose to come out. Before that when I drive my car my airbag service air bags lights would come on. And if I have a passenger sittin in the passengerside seat it would read that no one is in the seat and the air bag would be off then if you ride for awhile it would pop back on. But the airbags deploying caused great amount of pain to my husband face and my chest area.

I started my car and my airbag sensor lit up on my dashboard and on my stereo screen it said "service air bag". there was an issue with my passenger air bag when I purchased the vehicle in June 2014 but they said they had it reset before I purchased it. Also, on multiple occasions people have told me at stop lights that my brake lights are on while I am driving and off while I am stopped. I found online that this a recall issue but it doesn't pull up for my particular VIN number. These are issues outside of the recalls that I was already forced to deal with.

Loss of all power steering while driving. Power steering displayed on display screen. Loss of power steering made it extremely difficult to drive and extremely dangerous. This issue could definitely cause a very serious accident. The problem then became intermittent in the following days it would take up about four time to start the car to be able to start driving without power steering. My car is not included in any of the recalls. I took to a GM dealership they diagnosed that the problem was indeed, the torque module sensor, which is the same as all the other vehicles under recall. So why is my vehicle not included"!"! I had this issue fixed today. Another issue that also just started happening in the past few weeks is my passenger airbag will intermittently will not work. The airbag display will show on my dash board and it will show that the passenger airbag is off. This light comes at random times whether or not there is someone sitting in the passenger seat. I also had this diagnosed at the GM dealership. The said it was my pps (passenger presence system) this also needs a new sensor and it will cost $700 to fix!!!! there is service bulletin regarding this for my car so they are obviously aware that this a common problem. The service tech at GM said that is extremely dangerous to drive with this (no kidding) and that if the airbag light is displayed on the dash none of my airbags will deploy. Lets hope that GM does not drag their feet on this, all someone needs is to loose their power steering, crash, and have no airbags deploy. I have not had my airbags fixed as I already had to spend $400 plus to have my power steering corrected. If GM does not correct this asap I predict they will have many more lawsuits coming their way. Lets hope I do not get into a serious accident until GM decides to pay for it or until I can save enough money to fix this safety issue.

The air bag light goes on and a bell rings about three times and the air bag light stays on as long as drive the car, it is a very frightening situation. I feel very uncomfortable. Sometimes thinking would it go off and make me have an accident. If afraid to even let my daughter drive it. I bought the car used in 2008 so I don't know if the previous owner ever took it for the recall. I was looking in the internet and saw that in 2007 there was a recall for air bags on the passenger side. Which it is exactly where it is happening in my vehicle recall 07V146000. I'm having this problem constantly. Place advise me in what to do before there is an accident. I will not continue to drive it because I fear for my life and my family. My name is [xxx]. it is beginning to happen my often. Am I still eligible for the recall. A mechanic put a code machine and told me that it comes from the passenger side seat. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My car was involved in an hit and run accident in front of my home. The front end was rebuilt. Ever since that accident the airbag light comes on in the dash and radio.this is a daily thing. It even lights up when no one is in the passenger seat. I also noticed this year that my seat belt light has come on as I was wearing it meaning the light states I didn't have it on when I did. This year I also lost steering in the car due to a bad alternator which fried my battery and passenger head lamp socket. Good thing I lost the steering while I was parking and no on a highway... these problems I encountered are very similar to the ignition switch issues. When I switched insurance companies to progressive they had on their website about recalls I clicked it and saw a recall for the issue I was having. I called about it and was denied. So I let it go because no one would help me. Then I saw on C-span that this was an issue with the ignition switch and air bag. Once again I called and was denied. They said my VIN number didn't match the infected vehicles. Now I have a recall that states that GM is concerned about my safety and there is a recall for the shift cable assembly. If GM is concerned about my safety then this issue I have will be investigated. All I ask is that GM do the right thing for me one of their customers.

My passenger airbag light turns on and off at random points while driving. It doesn't happen every day and there is no common thing that causes it to turn off and on. Leads me to believe that it is malfunctioning and will not work properly if there were an accident.

"transmission shifter cable; brake lights, air bag passenger side, ignition" shifter intermittently hangs up when shifting. Called dealership first was told they had no recall for that VIN number, that nothing was on file. Then when I read him the notice I received today he said that I was to wait until they had parts. I felt uncomfortable driving this car and asked for a loaner. I was told there was nothing he could do. (service dept.) called Pontiac cs. 800 762 2737 I was told after explaining my problem that it was the dealerships discretion as to whether to provide a loaner. She talked to dealership, came back and then asked me how many mi was on car. 82K then she talked to dealer again and she comes back and tells me they need to check it and provide me with an estimate for repairs then I am to call the Pontiac customer serv back with the estimate. "??????? so I am still driving a car that I don't feel comfortable with because they need an itemized bill of repair? is this the process for a recall? I definitely will not take it to "that dealership" for an inspection as now I do not trust them as their computers had no recalls or repair reports for my car at all.. recall no. 14152 transmission cable I was provided with a case no. And told to call Pontiac cs back. P.S. so is this part of the ignition switch and brake lights intermittently coming on while driving down the road also I am confused????"

Pontiac G6 2007 suffered a total failure of the power steering column and sensor, which needed to be replaced for approximately $700. Although this very issue is subject to recall in other model year Pontiac G6 vehicles, the 2007 is not subject to the recall. A letter was sent to GM notifying them of part failures and costs. To date, GM has not responded to the notification, and the 2007 model year has not been included in the current recall. Simultaneously, Pontiac G6 2007 suffered a total failure of front passenger air bag system, so that the passenger air bag would not be deployed. When I notified GM, they stated it was a "warranty" issue, and normal "wear and tear". the estimated cost of repair was over $1500, for this critical safety feature. A letter was sent to GM notifying them of part failures and costs. To date, GM has not responded to the notification.

Airbag lamp illuminates while vehicle is in operation. The driver information center displays an airbag malfunction message and has a warning chime. During this time the system is identifying that the airbag system is not operating. The issues seems to be related to the sensor in the front passenger seat. If the vehicle is shut off the error message and indicator lamp go away. This has been happening more frequently over the last year. In addition the driver information center sometimes fails to turn on with the vehicle, making it hard to tell when there is an issue with the vehicle. During this time the information screen/radio are not illuminated. This is corrected by shutting off and restarting the vehicle.
