While driving at approx. 50 mph the engine suddenly shut off. The warning light flashed service 4WD, check engine light, and many other warning lights on the dash and electronic selector. After stopping, without power brakes working, the truck would not start. I allowed to truck to sit, with flashers on, for about 10 minutes. After the 10 minute wait, the truck started and seem to drive normally. I went directly to local dealership (sharp Dodge in pulaski, tn). The technician wasn't able to find a "code" related to the shut down. They only found indications of "voltage overload" not further defined. This occurred on April 8, 2021 on hwy 31A, approx 0600 hrs near the city of pulaski, tn 38478. Note:. the engine /long block was replaced by the same dealer AT172000 and under mopar warranty due to internal engine issues involving #5 lifter and damaged cam shaft.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal noise and hesitated while accelerating from a stop, without warning. The contact also stated that while accelerating at 40 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate while his foot was on the accelerator, without warning. Due to the failure, the contact pulled into a parking lot and restarted the vehicle after about 30 seconds. The contact had taken the vehicle to three separate Chrysler dealers - tallahassee Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Fiat (3987 w Tennessee St, tallahassee, fl 32304), lake city Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (4325 w us hwy 90, lake city, fl 32055), and an unknown Chrysler dealer in Georgia. Each dealer were unable to duplicate or diagnose the failure. The contact also took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was also unable to diagnose the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 14V161000 (power train) which he linked to his failure however, the vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000. Consumer stated car has been traded in.

When turning or coming to a stop, the electronic shifter comes out of gear. The display on the dash tells me to "shift to P to start". there are times where I am able to shift to P then right back to D but other times when I put it to P, I have to turn off the truck then turn it back on in order to go back to D. I have had this happen to me when driving on the city streets mostly but I have had it happen when I was getting ready to merge onto the freeway. I believe it has something to do with the transmission or with the electronic shifter.

Completed aem update which promised no change in performance. Truck is now dangerous to drive and does not meet my needs, which is why I purchased the truck. I nearly get T-boned pulling in or across traffic. The lag in the truck is extreme. I own a 21 foot boat and can barely pull it out of my 2 mile driveway that is on a slight hill. Truck bogs down and nearly stalls. Very disappointed in the truck after the update.

The consumer stated the vehicle was parked on a hill when it began to roll backwards and crashed through a gate. The consumer grabbed the wheel, from standing outside the vehicle, directing the vehicle towards an embankment, where it landed. The vehicle dragged the consumer along the way. The emergency brake was on. The consumer stated the key falls out of the ignition, but the vehicle continues to run. The mileage would not appear on the instrument panel. The headlights were not adjustable.

Received a letter from fca, titled, approved emissions modification disclosure 3.0L diesel. Took letter and visited Dodge dealer, they did not know anything about the letter and stated that they could not do anything without a recall number. I have since monitored motor for any signs of overheating or loss of cooling fluid. The truck continues to have low gas mileage, shifts hard and at high RPM. When first started is sluggish and I have to drive cautiously as it hesitated on take off.

2014 ecodiesel received an update / reprogramming of engine control unit (ECU) and now has serious drivability issues, especially when cold. Throttle response is delayed and, if trying to pull into traffic, is dangerous due to the delay in throttle response. In addition to drivability issues, the fuel mileage has decreased significantly, probably 20%.

On 5/23/19 I took my truck to the dealer where I'd bought it new to fix a check engine light that was on.after the issue was found and repaired, I picked the truck up and was told a trans update(recall # U07) was also done. As soon as I pulled into light traffic, I noticed the throttle pedal was unresponsive and the truck was sluggish and slow to accelerate.it also shifted up and down a lot more then it normally does all the way home.I thought maybe the trans had to re learn it's shift pattern and would get better after I put some miles on it just as it did when new. Over the next several weeks it didn't get any better and pulling onto the state highway from a town road has lead to some close calls as it'is a limited sight stop sign intersection. I have to do this every time I go to work or leave my house for any other reason. This is not a one time happening but every time I need to pull into traffic or get up to speed quickly. After several weeks I figured out something was wrong and the truck wasn't going to get better on it's own, I called the dealer to set up an appointment and check it out.I also asked if I could have the epa mandated aem(recall #V08) flash performed at the same time and was given an appointment for the following week. A few minutes later the dealer's service manager called back and informed me the aem update had already been performed on the 5/23/19 service visit and the change(loss) in performance was most likely the result. Since I was unaware the aem update had already been performed, I knew the loss in performance wasn't my imagination. I also noticed a loss of about 15% fuel mpg and the trans.shifts up and down a lot more which is more of an aggravation then a safety issue. I wish the truck could perform as it did before the aem update as was promised by fca and also be emission compliant. I thought I knew what I was getting.

Was told the exhaust manifold bolt/studs warped and snapped and the exhaust manifold is warped, this happened on the driver side first but was covered under warranty but now happening on driver side out of warranty. Was told my dealership they see this often and was told fca has fixed the problem in newer years by using stronger material in the bolts. This informs me that fca knows of the problem but the dealers won't cover it as a design defect. Clearly there is a design defect with the exhaust manifold bolts as they should not be doing this and manufactures are suppose to account for these parts to see extreme temp changes. This has happened now twice to me but because I am no longer under warranty they won't fix the problem. The fist time was before 60,000 miles and now the other side is happening at 76,000 miles. To summarize the problem is warped exhaust manifold bolts and the manifold itself.

Similar to NHTSA issue # 11287014 dated 12/5/19 on a Ram. Twice, I've parked my truck on an incline (two different driveways), I've put the car in park, shut off the engine and removed the keys and gotten out the truck. The truck then started to roll backwards, both instances I jumped back in and pushed the break to stop the truck, so I do not know how far it would have rolled. It did roll at least 2 feet before I got it stopped. I do not know the dates of the incidents
