The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500 equipped with Goodyear Wrangler tires, size: 225/75R16. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that both front tires had sidewall damage. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent tire facility where it was determined that the vehicle was equipped with incorrect tires. The facility declined to service the tires. The manufacturer informed the contact that the dealers were instructed not to install those tires on the vehicle. The manufacturer also informed the contact that they would not assume responsibility for replacing the tires due to a non-factory dealer installing the tires. Upon contacting an unknown dealer, the contact was informed that Goodyear had approved the tire installation. The tire failure mileage was 20,300. The vehicle failure mileage was unknown.
