The contact was able to continue driving; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving over bumps in the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the hydraulic control unit (HCU) and ABS module needed to be replaced; however, the parts were not available. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was a known issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Action Number: PE22012 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.
