The contact owns a 2018 Ram 3500. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the ABS warning light and the traction control warning light illuminated. Additionally, the message "ABS Disabled" was displayed. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who retrieved DTC: C0020-01; and the mechanic determined that the ABS hydraulic pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and several unknown dealers were contacted and advised the contact that they could not accommodate the vehicle due to the size, and that the vehicle could not be serviced because it was not purchased at their location. Additionally, the contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V398000 (Wheels); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. I was driving on the interstate highway. While driving at 60 mph towing a fifth wheel RV the front end shuddered for several seconds. Then the drivers side front wheel assembly broke off at the wheel studs. I was able to safely get to the breakdown lane. The drivers side front wheel assembly struck another vehicle traveling the oncoming lane. I was told that the vehicle that was struck was totaled. The police on scene documented the incident. The insurance representative has been notified and approved the repair. The collision repair facility documented. I also have pictures indicating broken front wheel studs.

URGENT: RAM/Mopar is unable to remedy the safety recall for my vehicle in a timely manner. SITUATION: In response to NHTSA safety recall number 21V-398, I messaged RAM on 25 July. I requested an expedited replacement of my unsafe vehicle with an identical or similar vehicle; or that they refund the vehicle's purchase price in full, minus a reasonable allowance for depreciation. BACKGROUND: As a 100% disabled, medically retired Afghanistan war veteran, I heavily rely on owning a safe, reliable vehicle to travel to medical appointments. Additionally, my vehicle is used to pick up and drop off family to/from elementary school. This recalled vehicle is my sole source of transportation. As such, I am deeply concerned about my vehicle's safety issue, which includes the risk of a wheel separating from the vehicle during operation, causing a vehicle crash without prior warning, and/or the wheel/tire posing a risk to other motorists. ASSESSMENT: To allow reasonable time for RAM/Mopar to provide an available remedy, I waited two months before making my request. However, as a company that regards the safety of its customers as paramount, I asked RAM to appreciate the seriousness and urgency of my request and that they acknowledge their duty to resolve this matter in a timely manner. Furthermore, I explained that I believe that a prudent company could foresee that a breach of this duty may proximately cause severe injury or death. On 26 July, a RAM Customer Service Call Center rep advised me that an available remedy is not expected for at least four months and that in light of unprecedented parts/supply shortages caused by COVID-19, it is reasonable for Mopar to anticipate unforeseeable delays in having a repair solution within four months, or even within one year. Nevertheless, the rep stated that my request would not be honored and my case would not be elevated for further consideration. I appreciate any assistance that NHTSA can provide to resolve this matter.

I bought this brand new 2018 Dodge in January of 2019 at the time of the incident it has four thousand miles on it and the incident happened on April 30th 2020. The front end began to vibrate. I pulled into a tire shop and they establish that the front left steer tire was cupping. It is a nexen tire that came on the brand new vehicle that only had 4000 miles on it. The spare tire did the same thing in only 60 miles, also brand new tire that came with brand new truck. I took both tires to a certified next entire dealership and they tested them for me and circles all of the areas on both tires that were cupped causing the vehicle to vibrate. Dodge dealership and the tire warranty people are arguing and I'm stuck in the middle and I want new steer tires and a new spare and Dodge still trying to figure out how they're going to handle this. The fact of the matter is faulty tires. Nexen roadians LT235/80R17, 4000 miles on a 2018 brand new Dodge 1ton diesel.

When hitting bumps or uneven pavement at speeds above 50 mph the truck will sometimes start shuddering and vibrating violently almost causing total loss of control. The only way to stop it is to come to a complete stop. It does not do it on all bumps or rough roads. It seems to be more frequent when hitting a bump in a curve or hitting a bump with first one wheel then the opposite wheel hits one. It does this loaded or unloaded and has done it while pulling a 16000 pound fifth wheel rv. The truck only has 16000 miles on it and has done it about 10 times since it was purchased. I have had it in the shop and was told they could not find any problem. I have it back in the shop at a different dealership and have started a ticket with Chrysler. So far they have done nothing.

We purchased a 2018 Ram 3500 dually with nexen tires on it at 13,000 miles the belts in the front tires came apart at this time after doing some checking on line this has been going on with the nexen tires beginning in 2017 there are many reports about the nexen tires completely coming apart when towing. We contacted Ram and they just sent us the contact information for nexen tires. We guess it must take some people getting killed from these nexen tires before anyone cares, that is unfortunate a major safety issue like this is ignored by Ram & NHTSA we were driving our Ram on the freeway when the front end started to wobble almost uncontrollably until we got under 40 mph it still wobbled but we could make it to discount tire to purchase new tires. We have the old tires. If we were towing our 5th wheel this may have caused a major accident. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).'

4 rear nexen oem tires defective; new truck driven home from dealership noticed serious vibrations shaking all seats in cabin at above approx. 65mph, took it back to original dealer, finnegan Ram, rosenburg, tx. Following week with approx. 500 miles on vehicle. Service dept. Advised me to drive it another 1000 miles or so to see if this issue resolves itself. It did not, I returned vehicle to allen samuel Ram service dept., aransas pass, tx. For same original issue with approx. 1900 miles on vehicle. 4 rear tires were found to be defective. I am presently trying to resolve a warranty claim after 2 weeks in service center. My 2015 Ram 3500 drw had similar issue; front 2 tires defective; 1 blow out tread separation and other serious bulges fixing to separate as well. I will provide photos and additional information when resolved and pick up my truck from dealership.

Truck has 1052 miles on it. Bought is brand vew April 26, 2018. While towing a 15,000lb fifth wheel trailer traveling at 65mpg on the New Jersey turnpike, I felt a vibration and immediatley pulled to the shoulder. I found that 6 out of 8 lugs sheared off the passenger side dually, leaving two lugs holding the dually wheels on. This is a major concern for me and feel a major safety issue. If I did not pull over the wheels would have fallen off and a catastrophic crash would have occured. I would like the lugs examined by a forensic examiner to determine the cause, I have no knowledge of why this event happened and am concerned about a reoccurance. My wife and I could have been killed. This truck is made to tow 30,000lbs abd I was towing only 15,000 lbs. Truck is currently at chapman Dodge of horsham P.a. updated 10/9/18
