I purchased my car 5/07. before purchasing the car I asked, does this car have a single or 6 dc changer? I was told, 6 cd changer!!!.....I listen to books on tape, that means there is a story and it needs to play in sequence. after purchasing the car I put 6 cd's in the changer only to find that I was listening to the story on the 1st cd over again. so I manually changed it to the next and listened to that one, only to find again it was now playing the 2nd disc over again. I got out my manual to see what setting I had to set to get it to play correctly. the manual has VERY little about the cd. so I figured I had to take the car back to be service the next week, I will tell them about the problem and it would be fixed. to this date I have yet to hear from the car dealers manager ( I heard he no longer works at the dealership)

I wrote this letter to saturn and never heard from them. This is a letter I sent in June to Saturn and J.D. Power and Assoc. about the things I do not like about my Saturn. I find it hard to believe that I did not hear back from anyone about this matter. It makes me know that I will never buy another Saturn again nor will I recommend anyone to buy one.

To the manufacturer of Saturn:

I was an owner of Honda Accords for the last 20 years and decided after going to the car show here in Pittsburgh, that I liked the looks of the Saturn Aura and that it was comparable to the Honda Accord.

I went to the closest Saturn dealer (Day Saturn of Wexford) and I purchased one. I do love the looks, the way it handles and many of the features it comes with. I have to tell you there are two features that really bother me about this car.

First, relates to the CD player. I am very disappointed to learn that a 6 cd changer does not automatically advance at the end of one cd to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on. Why bother having a 6 cd player??? I listen to audio books and find it very distracting and annoying when driving to find that the cd ends and restarts on the same cd . I have to manually change it to the next cd and this takes my attention from the road. I discovered this after a week of ownership. I looked in my manual to help me figure out what was going on and found no useful information. As a matter of fact, there is no useful information on how the player works. Since I was taking my car in to be serviced the following week, I thought I would get the information then. I took my car in to have mud flaps installed and waited 2hrs, when I finally walked into the service area and inquired about my car, I saw an employee sitting in my car talking to another employee in the middle of the service area. I asked what was going on with my car. The service guy Dave, informed me that he, too, was baffled and could not figure out why it would not advance to the next cd. (I asked if I could have a manufactures manual for the cd unit and was told there isnt one, which I find hard to believe!) I would still like a cd player manual. After Dave talked with a couple of other men, he informed me that they would have to call technical support and give me a call back when they had more info.

By the time I got home, there was a message from the service dept. saying that thats the way it is. It doesnt go to the next cd you have to manually do it.

I didnt like that answer so I called the manager of Day Saturn, on June 2, 2007. He too did not know about the 6 cd changer and said he would get back to me on this matter. I still have not heard from him. So now I figured, its too late, I will, or have to keep this car and deal with this system. Im telling you all of this because, had I known about the stereo system limitations, I would NOT have bought that car. That is how much having this functionality means to me. And I also dont understand why it is so difficult to get information on how something works in a vehicle.

I know someone who drives a 2004 Saturn that has a 6 cd player. She listens to audios as well and assures me that her cd player indeed advances from one disc to the next without having to manually touch it. Why is the 2007 model different? Or is this unit defective? Or when you pay more for a car are you now to be required to manually change cds???

The second disappointment is the sun roof. It does not retract into the roof which I thought was fine but have come to learn today, that it is not so acceptable. I experienced a rather unfortunate and very disappointing experience recently when we had a rain storm that lasted all of 5 minutes. I got in my car, started it, opened my windows, and then my sun roof. Unfortunately, because of the design of the roof, water came pouring into my car all over me, the console, and some important papers I had placed on the passenger seat. (It ruined the papers. I really did not appreciate that at all).

To the manufacturers of Saturn, I hope in the future you will take into consideration these disappointments and what I consider defects and make improvements for the future models to make it more comfortable for others who purchase your cars.

I would appreciate feedback from you as I would like to know if a manual exists for the cd player.

I've called customer service and this rude supervisor gave me 1 years free oil change to shut me up....I was so exhausted, I just quit bitching.

but as you see, I am so angry about this I want to scream and shout to the world how upsetting this whole thing is. I tried to trade this car in and get another Honda, but I just cant afford it. as soon as this is paid off, I am getting rid of this Saturn, never to by another saturn again!!! thanks
