First issue started with the numbers of the clock/stereo flickering after a couple of hours of the car being off during the winter. Then during the summer there were a couple incidents when the windows would not roll down nor up until a couples minutes after the car being on. A couple months later I rolled the driver side window 5 inches down while driving and 15 minutes later the window went up about an inch and did not budge but would make a buzzing sound. After a day or two there was not a buzzing sound and all the other windows did not work. Took in my vehicle to be checked and was told that it is an electrical issue coming from the main computer (motherboard I assume). This happened in February of 2014 and have not gotten it fixed.

My Saturn was at the dealer for the GM ignition recall. The dealer told me my fuel lines were rotted and leaking. I thought this odd since the car was at the mechanic's for a rusted exhaust the week before. I called my mechanic from the dealer and he said to bring the car back that day. He found the leaking lines. Total cost of repairs $567.42 since all GM parts were purchased. The dealer had to have known to look for this problem, leading me to believe it's a known issue.

About two years ago I started experiencing problems with the ignition switch on my 2006 Saturn Ion 2. the key would get stuck in there, or be hard to put it in all the way before starting the car. At times the engine would stay on even after key was out and all the instrument cluster lights would all come on even when the engine was off. Suddenly my instrument cluster stopped working all together (all gauges dead) with the exception of the warning lights. They would always stay on even when car was off and key was out. Later, just as sudden the cluster worked fine again, only to die a month later leaving all warning lights always on again. While all this was happening I was still having issues with the ignition. Mechanic told me that the ignition switch was causing the cluster to malfunction and eventually burned it out. Because of financial issues I was unable to replace the switch or the cluster at the time. When I received the ignition switch recall letter, I took it to get replaced and explained the cluster situation but dealership refused to replace the cluster and said it was a different issue. For months I have not been able to tell how much gas I have, how fast I'm driving or the temperature of the car. It's frustrating and expensive to repair. I have stayed stranded on the highway with my children several times, but GM will not help resolve the electrical issue.

I went to start my car to go to work and the key would not move in the ignition. Not one millimeter. I checked that the wheels were straight, checked that it was in park. Still no movement. Meaning I was not able to move the key forward or backward. After trying at the minimum 15 times, I called triple a and then my husband. He told me to cancel triple a and contact the dealer and have them deal with it. As it was only 7:15 and I had to wait until the dealer opened at 9:00. I sat and kept trying to get the key to move. Around 8:00 it just suddenly moved forward and the car started. I guess I am filing this complaint because GM installed that whole ignition part thing on my car about 2 months ago. I'm afraid to call them because what could I say? the car starts fine now. But I don't see how I can have any piece of mind worrying that this might occur at any time or anyplace. I have also been waiting for 2 months for a safety recall part(safety recall#14115) for power steering that may suddenly be loss. I have called GM several times to request a rental or loaner vehicle and have been told that I am safe in the car and if I am "going fast" I am "safer". I am extremely nervous that I could be involved in a crash or worse and drive the car everyday with a feeling of dread.

When my car first started cutting itself off while driving on the interstate or roads, R when turning key to turn car off, the key wouldn't turn car off. You can remove the key but car is still on. The doors will not unlock till the starter switch locks itself into off. You can put car into park and key will not turn off. I strongly feel that this goes along with the problem of the key turning car off while you are driving. That recall was done but we still have the problem of not being able to turn car off with the key. If you remove the key car is still on, this is a problem as sometimes you can not sit there waiting on car to shut off and this worries me as to safety.

While driving I heard a series of chimes and power steering indicator came on. I then was unable to turn the steering wheel. When I tried again I had to turn wide into traffic because even though I was turning the wheel as hard as I could I couldn't control it. I contacted GM about the recall and they told me that along with that there was the ignition switch recall. I was given a loaner because I was afraid to drive the car after the above incident. I was contacted on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 and was told the ignition switch parts were in. I informed them that I couldn't drive the car to kelly Buick GMC because of the power steering issue so they made arrangements to tow the car to their location. Now they are telling me to turn in the loaner, because even though the wheel is hard to turn, that it is safe to drive. I told the service person that I am a middle aged woman and do not have the strength in my arms to turn that wheel and that I am afraid. I was told to contact GM which I will in the morning because now I have no way to get the car from kelly Buick, when they knew when they towed it in I was afraid to drive it, because of the struggle to turn the wheel. They told me they would see what they could do, however they did nothing to the power steering and I do not know what to do at this point. I will contact kelly and GM tomorrow about this situation that I have been put in.

I purchased my 2006 Saturn Ion 3 in 2008 from a dealership. I have had all the recall issues happen to my vehicle. 1) I have replaced the ignition switch and cylinder twice due to the car being unable to shut off. This happened in 2008 and again in 2012. Both times it was covered under warranty and repairs were done by GM dealership. Even though these have been replaced I was told they need to be replaced again under the recall because those parts are faulty as well. I have been in contact with the dealership and was told they do not have the parts yet and will let me know when they are available. 2) in November 2013 my vehicle smelled of gas and was making me and my children sick. I had it checked out at the dealership and it was the fuel module. This was covered by a ntsb warranty extension. 3) my vehicle will intermittently shut off or lose power steering. When I took it into the dealership in 2013 they told me they would not touch it if they could not replicate the problem. It has not been fixed. 4) this issue is not mentioned in any of the complaints I have read here, but I have seen others complain on the internet. Beginning in January of 2014 there is a strong odor of exhaust fumes in my vehicle. My personal mechanic said there is a leak that is going into the cabin. My vehicle is slow to accelerate and feels shaky. There is also a loud noise coming from the engine compartment. I have to drive with the windows down at all times. I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle since right after I purchased it. I do not have a second vehicle nor the means to buy one. I rely on it to get me to work and to Transport my family. It is very disappointing to have to deal with these issues over and over again.

I was driving home early one morning and my ignition had shut off like it had many times before this time the weather conditions being snowy and slushy caused me to get stuck and the vehicle was yanked into the ditch. I had called the claims number after my car had sat at the dealership for about 2 months maybe longer and they told me since the claim was not filed as of the recall came out they are not responsible for it. There is nothing that GM can do they will not refund me for the money to replace my radiator, condenser, and cooling fan that I needed repaired at that time to make my vehicle run. I did not have money at the time to fix the cosmetic damage in the fender and the bumper so that is still broken. The claims department advised me since it was so long after the acident they could not check the vehicles records to see if the vehicle had actually shut off. Now the reason my car is sitting at the dealer ship is because this time my car was stuck running the key is in the on position and couldnt be turned off. I would like some action to be taken or someone to contact me in order to get this taken care of.
