Impreza

Passenger side seat airbag warning light shows that the airbag is off and the warning light comes on for the driver. This is a huge safety problem if in a crash. They need to recall these cars if required safety equipment quits working when a car only has 60k miles that's unacceptable!

Since about a year after I got the car, the passenger detection system will turn off the passenger airbag with an adult in the seat, or just won't turn it on at startup. It's almost always off at any time while driving with a passenger. It will acknowledge a passenger, if one is present, as it dings to buckle the seat belt, but the airbag stays off.
