problem #2

Outback 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 119,000 miles

2014 Outback with 120k miles. Gradual increasing of noisy whining to accelerate, struggles to shift gears. New CVT advised to the tune of $4,000 but it's the same technology (not improved/nothing changed) of what is presently in the car. To invest in the same technology that is failing seems foolish, esp at the high mileage.

Outback 2.5 I Premium 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 31,453 miles

When you press the accelerator, it hesitates 5 or 6 seconds before it will respond. This could be a very dangerous or even fatal incident when you try to pull out on to the highway. I took the car to Hometown Subaru in Prosperity WV on 4/20/2-17. They put it on the computer and could find nothing wrong. I read reviews of other owners of this model that have the same problem and who are also told the same thing from their Subaru dealers. This problem has been occurring since 2013. Must someone die or be crippled from this situation before someone decides to fix this problem? I think that with the good reputation Subaru has that they would put someone to work on this problem before they face a wrongful death lawsuit. It is hard to put a price tag on someone's life. I pray that the solution to this problem will come without the loss of someone's life to bring action from Subaru.
