problem #1

Avalon Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Soon after purchasing our new Avalon Hybrid we noticed the headliner was sagging at the rear window. We took it to the dealership and they installed a clip. This only caused the headliner to sag in the middle instead of on the side. We complained again and were told that this was a known problem but Toyota did not yet have the parts to fix it, so just wait patiently.

The dealership ended up taking out the rear window and replacing the headliner. The headliner did not fit properly at the windshield but looked much better... Then the headliner started sagging at the skylight. It appears that it is held in place with double stick tape and isn't really a viable long term solution. In the meantime, I am collecting finger smudges all over the headliner & columns in my car:(

There may be a light at the end of my tunnel. A Toyota Rep is supposed to come look at my car later this week (after rescheduling twice). I'll let you all know what (hopefully) our resolution is.
