The hood doesn't stay open. The hood uses two gas struts to be opened and they failed causing the hood to slam into my head and neck. The hood doesn't have a prop up bar which can keep the hood propped open. My car is a 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid with 70,000 miles on it. The hood was opened all the way for 5 minutes before it slammed shut on me.

I am not sure why Toyota decided to set the front bumper quite low compared to other similar sized sedans from different brands out there. In the almost 4 years since I've owned this car I have had multiple scratches and scrapes on the underside of the front bumper; it's ridiculous. A very small dip in the road most of the time leads to scratches which I can feel while driving. The only way to not feel this scraping sound is to approach the dip extremely slow at around 5 mph, which is a safety concern because I don't want anyone ramming into my car from behind. Certain roads I need to pass when I get home have truly terrible construction to the point where I feel like I'm driving my car across a rocky road. I've driven other similar sedans and I don't even feel scraping along the bottom side of the front bumper when approaching a steep dip. I just can't believe how someone in the designs team at Toyota could possibly OK such a poor design. No scratches are visible on my car until you reach the front bumper which is a total disaster. In fact, much of the paint has been scraped off clean and you can see the graphite colored body color.

I was so excited about this car, until I got this car. We have had nothing but problems since signing out contract. The under shield of the car is falling/dropping which is constantly breaking off and falling out behind us which is potentially dangerous to others as well. Makes the whole car shake like crazy when driving higher speeds. I am constantly having to get down on the ground in mid winter and try to dig the snow, slush and ice out from inbetween the shield and the car itself. I cant use tools or sharp objects because I dont know if there is breakable stuff so I just use bare hands and hope for the best. Ridiculous when I have serve carpel tunnel and its in negative with windchill and I run inside ugly crying because my hands hurting.. the clips that whole the car together in general keep coming undone. I can only clip a few back together as I don't have the strength for the rest. Scared the bumper might fall off at a higher speed with 2 minor children in the car. Then the felt on the inside around the tires likes to peel away and when the clip is also undone it bends and mends the underbody outside trim and then while driving it catches on my back tire. Not only at higher speeds but all the time.

In August 2918, the vehicle was purchased from mcgeorge Toyota of richmond, Virginia. In February 2019, the ac was not cooling. It was found that there were several high pressure leaks. The condenser was replaced in the car and has attempted to be repaired three other times, as two other times the freon was found to be low, and leaks from high pressure lines. After the second repair in March 2019, the wiring was found to be faulty, which in turn heated the vents up so hot, it produced a mild burn on my fingers. While driving, the temperature of the air coming out of the vents was extremely hot, so I turned the blower down and attempted to move the vents in an upright position. Furthermore, the mirror was found to be defective and a piece fell off while driving on the highway in January of 2019. Today, on 10/24/19, the car malfunctioned while in motion and in a stationary position. When this event occurred, it effected power, steering, brakes, air bags and several other major functions. I left for work and noticed my car just seemed to be driving oddly. I pulled off to see what was going on and get coffee. I turned the car off, went into the store. When I came to the vehicle and started it, I put it in reverse and could not turn the wheel. Nearly all of the warning lights came on. I turned the vehicle off and let it sit for several minutes. When I turned the vehicle back on, all of the lights were off and the vehicle was able to move and drive normally. Overall, this vehicle has had several major issues with wiring, electrical, body and has posed a serious threat to my safety. I have contracted the manufacturer several time and several attempts have been made to repair it; however the problems are consistent. The manufacturer demonstrates a lack of accountability for these defects and has been notified of these safety concerns.

The transmission shift erratically, when cruising at a constant speed the transmission jerks. It feels like it down shift then up shifted, this happens a few of times a week Toyota says this is normal in 4 cylinder, but this is not normal behavior I have 2013 Camry with no such issue. The most annoying, both the driver side and passenger side doors sound hollow and make a loud banging sound when shutting the doors. They sound like metal banging or hollow tin cans. When I searched online I found that the adhesive on the door skin could be bad causing the metal thumping sound. I can make a video and send it to you guys if needed. Thank you.

While driving my 2018 Toyota Camry, a deer ran in front of the car causing a serious accident. Two airbags deployed. I saw a fire flash from the steering wheel airbag and received a serious burn on my arm. My jacket sleeve melted as well. It's been over a week, and the burn has still not healed. So thankful my eyes were not burned!

Car front grill design is so poor that damage caused by normal road debris already punctured my ac condense leaking freon / ac coolant to release in to environment /harming environment as well as increasing repair cost. 2 times in last 6 months I have relapsed my front ac condenser due to stick of wood or pebble going through front grill easily and puncturing.

At around 1,800 miles, headliner above driver side door pillar began intermittently buzzing like a bee, causing distracted driving, noise occurs on all types of road service for varying lengths of times. Buzzing noise may persist for hours on a long drive. The buzzing can be stopped by pressing on the headliner. An additional noise became evident slightly later, the glove box began making a vibrating noise. The vibrating sound can be stopped by pressing on the outside of the glove box door. Most recently, there is a vibrating noise come from the front driver and passenger pillar air bag locations. We have taken the vehicle to the Toyota authorized service center three times without any resolution of the problems.

After days hard rain last week on the road evidence water and dirt marks came from passenger side fender to engine bay. Toyota must fix this problem soon as possible before corrosion and engine electrical short ! there are posts from other Toyota forum: (www.toyotanation.com/forum/802-Camry-8th-generation-2018/1597922-water-dirt-leaking-into-engine-cabin-front-wheels.html) https://www.autohome.com.cn/user/201804/915221.html#pvareaid=101356

Vehicle had an unintentional braking incident related to the factory safety systems which caused property damage. Of concern is that according to the manufacturer who read the edr, there was no recorded event therefore they are denying that an unintentional braking event occurred. I was not present at the dealership when they downloaded the data however they left a thumb drive in the car which allegedly contains the data they pulled from the car. When the event occurred, the car was on the track of an automatic car wash being pushed along by rollers under the wheels while in neutral. The speed was likely 2-3 mph. When the front of the vehicle went under a curtain of swaying cloth strips, alarms went off in the vehicle, large illuminated letters that said brake appeared in the instrument display, it braked by itself causing it to come off of the track rollers and the conveyer pulled the vehicle behind into the rear of my vehicle causing damage to both vehicles. The owners manual lists automatic car wash as a situation when the system may activate (along with passing other vehicles, going under highway signs and about 20 other common everyday situations where one would be unable to deactivate the systems prior to the situation). The owners manual does not tell you to disable the system when in an automatic car wash. Toyota denies any liability due to the edr not recording the event although they identified that it would and should have if it occurred. There clearly is a problem with the edr recording properly if it is not recording what it is supposed to. The data on the thumb drive is available upon request. The dealer identified when the claim was filed that Toyota has a unit dedicated specifically to unintentional braking, same as they do for the unintentional acceleration problems their vehicles experienced so clearly they are aware of potential problems.

Takata recall the front axle breaks when driving on a city street (not turning but the steering wheel is slightly right) with a speed of about 25-30 mph and the right front tire went off the vehicle with both right front and right rear tires burst. Not sure if the car hits the curb first or the axle or flat tire happened first.
