Camry XLE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 850 miles

This problem started the 2nd week I was driving it - or at least became more and more noticeable. When you put your foot and the accelerator to go, it hesitates and then jerks forward. Ironically it never accelerates enough to pass anyone... even though it jerks forward it seems to have a problem getting past 55. It almost feels like you are always driving up a hill - like it it trying to go but just can't get there. It also jerked badly shifting gears and shook when I got over 75. It annoyed me enough to take it to service.

The service person and manager took it for a ride. The service told me that is the way it rode and he didn't like it either but if enough people complained maybe Toyota would do something. The Manager actually told me it acted like a computer, it had to think for a second before it actually took off. Both men stated that's how that engine acts. I don't understand how they can sell a vehicle they know has problems. All this happened under 1000 miles. I used to be a loyal Camry person and this turned me against Toyota forever.

Camry SE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 750 miles

I bought my 2018 Camry SE on Oct 13,2018 and it's been about 4 weeks now. Ever since, I noticed that the transmission has been acting weird. The acceleration is lagging and slow to take off. When I step on the gas harder, it's start moving but it feels like it's launching and jerking sometimes, it's scares me. Especially in traffic.

I so called to Toyota automaker to complaint about this issue. Hopefully they do something about this.

Camry LE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 800 miles

I just purchased this vehicle on memorial day. This is my 5th Camry LE, so no dealer can tell me that how the 4 cylinder drives. When I accelerate to change the lane or merging into the fwy the car won't speed up. I almost got rear ended coupon times. I posted this is on Toyota's Facebook and got a comment from them to call their 1-800#. I called today and was told that nobody reported this issue. I wonder how's that? The NHTSA website has over 30 complaints about this. Their Facebook has complaints. They are just liars. If you have this issue report to NHTSA website, call Toyota corporation, report on Facebook, report on all sites you see people complain. This is the only way we can do something!!! This car is unsafe!!!!!!
