Anti-lock braking system engages suddenly with power loss and front end vibration. Vehicle stability control and traction control lights illuminate on dash. ABS and vsc lights remain on (ABS and stability control therefore disengaged) and cannot be turned back on by operator. When vehicle is turned off, system appears to reset, but the problem repeats after restarting and driving several miles. Problem occurred twice today, on two separate drive events within a 2 hour period.

The contact owns a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated the vsc, vsc-off, emergency brake, and check engine warning lights would intermittently illuminate on the dashboard. In addition, the vehicle would abnormally accelerate sporadically when sitting idle at a stop. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for further analysis. The failure mileage was 113,000 and the current mileage was 116,000.

The check engine light, track, vsc, ABS light are all on. The dealership found a code of C1241 which was the skid control ECU had shorted internally and it was necessary to replace skid control ECU and recalibrate also bleed brake system. As you know the vehicle skid control system helps provide integrated control of the systems such as anti-lock brake system, traction control, engine control, etc. This system automatically controls the brakes and engine to help prevent the vehicle from skidding when cornering on a slippery road or surface or operating steering wheel abruptly. I am looking for some assistance as the charge from the dealer was quoted at $2714.12. This issue seems like a recall feature.

2002 Toyota Sequoia electrical issues-air conditioning comes on spontaneously without initiation by driver, back window always failing to operate properly, not opening or closing @ times, now stuck closed, tracking device comes on for long periods with used & new tires, even after numerous professional alignments, and proper driving, engine light always on. All of these issues have been bought to the attention of Toyota service dept, the SUV has been inspected by Toyota on numerous occasions, and parts have reportedly been replaced, however, these issues continue, there are also no devices in place to keep the driver's mat from curling over the accelerator and brake pedals.

2002 Toyota Sequoia ECU fails to reset after ABS, vcu, skid control & check engine lights are on. Told by dealer that I need to replace the ECU (over $2300) and that changing it may not solve the ABS light problem. I may have to then replace the brake booster for an add'L $ $1200. That's absolutely ridiculous to have to replace a $2300 part and still not rectify the problem. All this tells me is that they really don't know what the problem and make expensive repair solutions.

Vsc/trac/parking brake/ABS light turned on. Dealer said ECU controlling these functions shut down. Replaced ECU for $2,000.

Brake light started to come on and go off when driving, but my manual said this is okay. Then the vsc and trac off lights started to come on and stay on but it did not happen every time I drove the car, only half the time.

I own a 2002 Toyota prius. It has been at Toyota of St. Thomas for over 6 months undergoing "repairs". I don't know when I will ever get it back as they seem unable to repair it.

We have a 2002 Sequoia, not long after we bought it the vsc and trac off light started coming on, and the booster assy was replaced by our local Toyota dealer. We have had to replace the brakes or parts of the brakes three times, 8/21/02, 3/11/03, and 5/3/03, costing some where close to $1000. On June 6th, I took the Sequoia into Toyota for a service check and was told that everything was fine. 3 weeks later we felt that there was something wrong with the brakes again, and called Toyota motor Corp. They notified the local dealership, and the brakes were replaced for free. Now today my vsc and trac off light started coming on again.
