The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Sienna. During extremely cold weather with a wind chill of approximately minus 53 degrees, the vehicle's hood was ajar to jumpstart the vehicle. The contact stated that the hood was bent and failed to close properly. The vehicle was taken to rudy luther Toyota (8805 wayzata blvd, golden valley, mn 55426 (612) 424-7924) where the contact was informed to submit an insurance claim. The contact was referred to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The contact stated that the hood design was inadequate and not sustainable. The failure mileage was 20,000.
