I owned the car for 6 days when it all of a sudden suffered catastrophic engine failure. All the oil was leaked out and my motor ceased. Needs new engine.

CC 2.0L 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 139,000 miles

Timing chain and tensioner failed, leading to engine damage. Happened two months (December 2018) after I purchased the car from a used car dealer (Humble Like New Auto) in Humble, TX. CC had 138,000 miles on it, and so not covered by Volkswagen's recent timing chain settlement, which stipulated they would cover cost of repairs for affected cars UNDER 100,000 miles. No recourse, it is looking like.

CC Sport 2.0L T

  • Automatic transmission
  • 63,000 miles

This is the first car that I have purchased and not even a year old. The car dies and will not start. I take it to the dealership and they charge me 900 dollars to look at it and diagnose the problem. After they tell me that my timing chain tensioner jumped and it bent all the valves in my engine. They tell me that I need to replace my engine in my car for close to 10 thousand dollars. They say that this problem has been happening a lot and to contact VW and still no help in this situation.
