problem #2

GTI Autobahn 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,000 miles

Car ran smoothly - than began to misfire violently at 37,800 miles. EPC and Engine light came on and stayed on. Local, reliable service shop recommended replacing ALL the ignition coils - as they have seen this very same issue with a number of late model Volkswagens.

GTI 1.8L

  • Manual transmission
  • 36,000 miles

On my drive back from vacation noticed that the EPC light came on and would not go out after restarting the car. Car also started to overheat when I got home. Then the next morning it would not start because of a fuel pump failure. Radiator, fuel pump, and control module all in on trip to the dealer after a vacation road trip. Will never buy another VW again.
