Passat Komfort 2.0L Turbo

Well... Lets Start with ARE YOU KIDDING? I bought this car a little over a year ago with under 25K on it from a large VW Dealership, RELIGIOUSLY took it in for oil changes and recommended work, and since we have had it, we have spend hundreds on a failed fuel pump, and now about $7,000 to put a new motor in because a valve spring on rocker arm broke with no warning and the valve dropped and went into the piston, killed that, and spewed metal shards into the system, killing the car. Of which ZERO is covered by warranty.

My wife is beyond distressed about this car. It is - right now- sitting at the dealership in pieces, awaiting our "okay" to get the motor. It has the value of a common beach rock. Of course my loan company would disagree. My wife was driving, and at first I was so happy that she controlled the car on the expressway when it happened at 65mph,and didn't smash into anyone or cause an accident, or get rear-ended by one of the many speeding semi's when her car suddenly bogged out and dropped to "no power". She safely navigated the car off the road, and stopped. Of course in afterthought - That could have gone radically different-- and then MAYBE VW would be accountable for the defective parts. Apparently if no one dies, no one cares. I personally think they should look at this- that spring... a little spring... caused total failure in my engine and could have killed my wife and her passenger. How is that safe???

Apparently VW has no concerns about heaping junk out there to consumers. My wife and I have had numerous cars that we have run over 150K without major issues or car payments- and now we have this pile of junk with a payment where the whole engine goes to sludge because of a broken spring at 68K.

My advice- DON'T BUY A VW. Not a quality car. Trying to "fix it on the cheap" was $5,000- by the way. DON'T BUY VW. DON'T BY VW. My wife actually drives this car, and frankly- I don't think I want her to anymore. It scares me to think what will happen next. A Failed Fuel Pump, and a Totally JUNKED ENGINE in 1 year of ownership-- what's next? By the way-- this car was not driven for over a year - maybe almost two- that it was "in service"- it sat at the dealership... now I am wondering if it was a secret lemon of some kind.

PS: THIS WAS A CERTIFIED INSPECTED USED CAR WITH THE VW CERTIFIED STICKER (HA HA HA HA HA ... okay... so THAT SPECIAL LABEL FROM VW is WORTH NOTHING BECAUSE MY CAR ISN'T EITHER)
