dropped a valve dropped a valve

Car had all oil changes on time, never gave me a problem at all. All of a sudden one day leaving home, drove about 10 mile went to McDonalds, got my food, pull off and drove about 40ft then the car started putting. So I got off the accelerator and it stopped. I got back on the accelerator it did it again. So I pulled over, by that time the ELP ( I think that's the name of the light) light came on then the engine light came on. I was about to turn the motor off but it had shut down already.

Had it towed to a VW shop where he told me that a spring in the motor broke and made the car drop a valve. He mention that its a manufacturer problem and we both talked to the VW main office. They said they couldn't help because it was a little over the manufactured warranty of 60,000. My car had 62,000. A motor for that car is $13,000 and VW will not help with ANYTHING!!!! Something they did caused my car to break and I can't get any help.
