On two occasions, approximately one week (7 days) apart my car failed to start. Each time is seemed like a battery issue.

Occasion 1: dropping a friend off at home, sitting in apartment complex parking space saying our goodbyes for no more than 5-10 mins, engine on, auto start/stop on so that in the moment the engine was stopped. Normally, in this situation, I put the car in reverse and the engine starts and we go on our way. On this day I put the car in reverse and the car displayed the "Please manually start the engine." message. I attempted to do that. All electronics came on. The engine did not turn over, instead it responded with rapid clicking noise. I attempted to start it an additional 3 times all with the same result. At this point I called roadside assistance who came and jumped the car. It started with no problem. For the next week everything was fine.

Occasion 2: I took the car to get washed and detailed. As the detailers finished they drove it around for me to claim. I watched them do this and got up to immediately claim my car, there was no delay and there was no moment where my car was sitting with the key in the ignition for any length of time. I went out to the car and the gentleman told me the key was in the cup holder.. not in the ignition. I insert the key and attempt to start the car.. same response...all electronics turn on and the engine clicks. I attempt to start it 3 more times and get the same response.

*This part is important... Maybe the second or third time I attempted to start the car I completely removed the key from the ignition. Its in my hand, not touching the car at all. My air conditioner is turned to the "off" position but my air conditioner is blowing air. I heard it and put my hand up to the vent to confirm. I asked the car wash employee to come over and verify what I was feeling and experiencing. I showed him the key in my hand and that the a/c was off. He confirmed. He them jumps my car with his car. My car starts immediately. I take it home and call a tow truck to deliver it to my nearest dealer.

To date, they have had it for one week. I have spoken with them once and during that time they attempted to blow me off and say it was the battery. It can't be the battery if the a/c is blowing when the car and a/c are off AND the key is physically removed from the ignition. I asked them to look harder.. still waiting for a resolution.
