I have had this car for two months, one week of which was spent in service due to airbag SRS issues.

One evening driving home my dashboard/instrument panel went black for ten minutes. Came back on when I reached home. Two days later I heard a rattling noise under the instrument panel or the engine which stopped after a few minutes. Completely unexplained. Here is the kicker part of my saga; Up popped a warning which read Park Assist sensors blocked. I had no guidance lines or alerts pulling into a tight garage and when I put the car in reverse I got a steady alert when there was clearly nothing in my path. We cleaned all the sensors and tried again the next morning, same problem. When this alert is onscreen I was unable to use the menu button to summon blue tooth, or navigation. Took it back to the Volvo service who ordered an Engine Control Module. It arrived several days later, was installed and guess what? It failed to solve my problem(s).

Bottom line you ask? I have head this car for two months and have not had it in my possession for two weeks out of two months due to so far unfixable (is that a word?) problems. Did I get a lemon? Are others finding the same issues?

I would appreciate any info on where to send my complaint to Volvo corporate. Thank you. Susan

Update from Aug 3, 2019: After the ECM failed I was told (two days ago) that the entire wire harness will be replaced. Is this a solution to the problems? Time will tell. If my XC40 is in another week that will be three weeks out of just over two months that my car is out of commission.
