GM Recalls Buick Encore Because Steering Wheel Could Fall Off

— General Motors is recalling specific 2013 Buick Encore vehicles because the steering wheel could fall off the steering column while you're driving.

Although, we’re not sure how much “driving” you could do while holding onto a steering wheel that’s not attached to anything.

GM says the vehicles have a heated steering wheel and were manufactured December 9, 2012, to December 28, 2012.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the steering wheel fastener may not have been properly installed.

The recall should begin by April 12, 2013.  Your GM dealer will make sure the steering wheel won’t fall into the floorboard.

Contact GM at 800-521-7300 and refer to recall number 13098.
