— Hyundai hasn't wasted any time in recalling 2,100 of its newest version of Hyundai Sonata cars. Hyundai says the 2015 Hyundai Sonata has a defect which can cause the gear shifter to get stuck in "park" or cause the car to lose its power steering ability.

Hyundai learned of the defect on June 2, 2014, when it received a pre-delivery dealer inspection report that listed the symptom as "unable to remove the vehicle's shifter from the Park position."

Hyundai found a vendor supplied a wiring harness that had been damaged. Three subsequent reports were received about the same problem, but Hyundai found the problem could be fixed by adjusting a wiring joint connector socket.

Hyundai dealers were ordered to stop sales of the 2015 Sonata until the defect is fixed and Hyundai is already notifying affected customers of the recall.

If you own a 2015 Hyundai Sonata and want to find out more, call Hyundai customer service at 800-633-5151 and give them recall number 119.
