Honda Recalls 2015 Honda Fit To Repair Stalling Threat

Almost 18,000 model year 2015 Honda Fit cars need the plug top ignition coils fixed.

— Honda is recalling about 17,800 model year 2015 Honda Fit cars to protect them from unintentionally stalling.

The automaker says the problem was discovered through warranty claims outside the U.S. Honda says the plug top ignition coils originally installed on the cars could degrade over time and cause the engines to stall.

Although a stalled engine could be trouble on a highway, the automaker says it's unaware of any accidents or injuries related to the ignition coils.

The recalled 2015 Fits were built manufactured December 6, 2013, to August 28, 2014.

Honda says mailed recall notices will start going out on October 6, 2015. Honda dealers will replace the plug top ignition coils with coils of a different design.
