— Toyota is recalling over 112,000 vehicles in two separate recalls, one for vehicles that won't move forward and another recall to fix power steering problems.

Toyota Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid and RAV4

The largest recall involves 110,000 model year 2015 Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid and 2014-2015 RAV4 SUVs. Toyota says a power steering circuit board might have been damaged at the factory.

The automaker says the damaged circuit board could cause a loss of power steering while driving, a dangerous condition when traveling around turns or at slow speeds. Manual steering will remain, but it won't be easy to turn the steering wheel.

The driver will see an instrument panel light illuminate, all while performing a cardiac workout from trying to turn the steering wheel.

Toyota says owners will be notified in April 2015. The automaker says dealers will replace the power steering electronic control unit, but only if it "falls within the affected range" that seems to be causing the trouble.

Toyota RAV4 EV

About 2,500 model year 2012-2014 RAV4 EV SUVs have problems with shifting into neutral when they shouldn't. The all-electric SUV is no longer manufactured by Toyota, but the automaker must still make recall repairs when a defect is discovered.

In the 2012-2014 RAV4 EV there is a part of the propulsion system called the "electric vehicle traction motor assembly." Toyota says that assembly has software errors that can cause the transmission to shift into neutral and trigger a light and a message that says, “Check EV System.”

It can be a serious issue if the RAV4 EV shifts into neutral when taking off from a stop light or when traveling in heavy traffic.

As with the power steering recall mentioned above, Toyota hasn't released a schedule of when the RAV4 EV recall will begin. The automaker says dealers will make repairs to the electric vehicle traction motor assembly.

Toyota doesn't know of any accidents or injuries related to either recall, but owners can call 800-331-4331 with any questions.
