— Ford is recalling more than 9,400 vehicles in three recalls with two of those recalls involving the possibility of fires.

Ford Super Duty Truck Recall

The largest recall involves about 8,069 trucks that could catch on fire because the gas tanks could drag on the highway and send the trucks up in flames.

The 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks, built in Kentucky, may be missing reinforcement brackets to keep the fuel tank straps attached to the frames. The gas tanks could drop and drag on the ground and damage the tanks. If the tank hits a highway and drags, sparks could easily ignite leaking fuel and make the truck hell on wheels.

Ford says it is unaware of any fires, accidents or injuries caused by the missing reinforcement brackets.

The recalled 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks were built between August 10, 2016, and September 17, 2016.

Ford says about 7,103 trucks are affected in the U.S., another 964 are in Canada and two are located in federalized territories.

Ford dealers will need to inspect the crossmembers at the front of the fuel tank strap attachments and replace any missing reinforcement brackets.

The recall is expected to begin February 6, 2017. Truck owners with questions should call 866-436-7332 and refer to recall number 16S45.

Ford Taurus, Flex, Explorer, Police Interceptor Utility and Lincoln MKT Recall

Another 1,352 Ford vehicles are recalled to fix a risk of fires from leaking oil from the turbocharger oil supply lines.

Recalled are the 2016 Ford Taurus, 2016-2017 Ford Flex, 2017 Ford Explorer and Police Interceptor Utility and 2016-2017 Lincoln MKT vehicles with 3.5-liter GTDI engines.

Ford says the turbocharger oil supply tubes weren't blazed properly and can leak oil on the turbocharger and any nearby components. The risk of fire is present from the leaking oil, but no fire, accident or injury reports have been received.

Ford says the vehicles were built during the following periods:

  • 2016 Ford Taurus: October 18, 2016, to November 2, 2016
  • 2016-17 Ford Flex: October 18, 2016, to November 10, 2016
  • 2017 Ford Explorer: October 15, 2016, to November 12, 2016
  • 2017 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility: November 2, 2016
  • 2016-17 Lincoln MKT: October 18, 2016, to November 10, 2016

About 1,157 of the recalled vehicles are in the U.S., 126 in Canada and six in federalized territories.

Ford didn't say when the recall will begin, but dealers will replace the right-hand and left-hand turbocharger oil supply tubes.

If you own one of the recalled vehicles and have questions, please call 866-436-7332 and ask about recall number 16S46.

Ford Fusion Recall

The 2017 Ford Fusion is recalled to fix problems that may cause stowed luggage to fly into the passenger compartment in a crash. Only 25 cars are affected with left rear seatback pivot pins that may not have been welded correctly.

The recalled 2017 Ford Fusions were manufactured September 27, 2016, to September 28, 2016.

Ford dealers will replace the affected seatback frames once the recall starts on January 9, 2017.

Affected owners of the recalled 2017 Ford Fusions may call the automaker at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S43.
