— Ferrari is recalling about 825 cars to fix front passenger Takata airbags that need new inflators before the current inflators explode into shrapnel. Takata recently recalled an additional 5.7 million airbag inflators and this small Ferrari recall is part of the larger Takata recall.

Recalled are the 2012 Ferrari California, 458 Italia, 458 Spider and FF cars if they were originally sold or ever registered in the following areas:

Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan) and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Ferrari does not have replacement airbag inflators, so affected owners will be notified in March 2017 about the airbag recall. Once replacement parts are available, owners will receive final notices to get the cars to dealerships.

Owners of the recalled 2012 Ferrari California, 458 Italia, 458 Spider and FF cars may contact the automaker at 866-551-2828. Ferrari's recall number is 61.
