Recall: Lexus ES 350 Cars Can Lose Steering Control

Posted in Recalls

— Toyota is recalling about 1,760 model year 2017 Lexus ES 350 cars that may experience a loss of steering control while driving.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hasn't released information about the recall, but Lexus says the cars have right side tie-rod assemblies that may not be installed correctly.

The automaker says the ES 350 can drift to the right or left or lose the ability to be steered, but the problem can take time to develop and a driver will likely first experience the drifting or noise.

Lexus dealers will make sure the tie-rod lock nuts are properly tightened and if they are loose, the lock nuts, steering gear assemblies and tie-rod assemblies will be completely replaced.

The Lexus ES 350 recall will begin in July 2017.
