— Toyota is recalling about 28,600 model year 2018 C-HR compact SUVs with electronic parking brakes that may malfunction.

The automaker didn't say much about the recall, but engineers determined the parking brakes can fail to disengage once they are engaged.

In addition, it's possible the parking brakes won't be able to engage no matter how much drivers try to apply the brakes.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) hasn't released details about the C-HR recall, but dealers will update the software for the electronic control units.

CarComplaints.com will update this page when more is known about the recall. Owners should watch for mailed notifications sometime in November 2017.

If you own a 2018 Toyota C-HR and have questions, call the automaker at 800-331-4331.
