MINI Coopers Recalled To Install Missing Crash Pads

— BMW is recalling nearly 700 model year 2020 MINI Cooper Hardtop 2-Door, MINI Cooper S and MINI John Cooper Works vehicles.

The automaker says the rear side trim panels may have been assembled without crash pads, a violation of federal safety standards.

The missing crash pads will leave rear seat passengers more at risk of injuries in side impact crashes.

The MINI recall is expected to begin October 16, 2019, when dealers will install the crash pads.

MINI Cooper customers may call the automaker at 866-825-1525.
