Takata recall I am just concerned about my family's safety. Audi should offer a loaner program until they find a fix for this problem. As a city driver, the likelihood of a collision is far higher.
- Philadelphia, PA, USA
Takata recall. The recall was announced in may, but there is no remedy yet available. In five months, I think it should be possible to figure out a replacement inflator and offer it as a service, particularly since the system is potentially deadly. Even a partial remedy of disabling the airbag would be preferrable. As of 9/9/2016, the following is listed "remedy: Repair solution pending. Recall status: Recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available"

Takata recall. This concerns NHTSA recall number 16V382, manufacturer recall number 69O2. The website reflects that the recall date was May 27, 2016. I received notice from Audi dated July 2016 advising me that "a recall repair is not yet available." As of August 24, 2016, the NHTSA website reflects that "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available." I am very concerned by the issue that led to the safety recall: That if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the passenger frontal airbag is designed to deploy, metal fragments could result is serious injury or death to vehicle occupants. This makes me very worried for my safety and for the safety of any passengers in my car. The airbag is supposed to prevent injury, not actually cause serious injury or death. I would like to know when a remedy will be available and when this life / safety issue in my car will be fixed? updated 02/01/17.

Takata recall. Received letter from Audi of America in April 2016 indicating airbag inflator could rupture, which may result in serious injury or death. Have appointment for regular car servicing on July 21 2016. Inquired about plans regarding recall repair. Dealership indicated that there are no current timelines for repairs. Will be notified when parts become available. No further recommendation. My wife drives this car daily, and this doesn't seem quite right. Am interested in the role of consumer protections services here. Thanks!

The above listed vehicle was in an accident with extensive damage to the vehicle. The airbag on the driver side didn't deploy, which caused major injuries to the forehead and other body parts. The vehicle sustained major front end damage and it is unknown why the airbag didn't deploy. There were no warning signs of airbag being defective or needed to be repaired.

Purchased car from elk grove Audi as a certified used vehicle. The seat broke and no airbags deployed. I was at a stop light with one truck in front of me also stopped. A Chevy Tahoe doing approx 45 mph hit me from behind, she moved over at the last minute so she did not hit me completely from the rear, she ended up hitting the back drivers side and then down the side of the drivers side. I was pushed into the truck in front of me. One of the officers asked if we had purchased the car used since the airbags did not deploy. Car was totalled - during the process of the settlement on the car the insurance company informed us that the car had been in an accident before. When we went back to Audi about it, they claim they had no knowledge of the previous accident. The reason we do not believe that is because the mileage on the accident claim is exactly the same as one of the service visit to Audi 5 days after the claim.
