Summary
Power-Assisted Steering Failure. The power-assisted steering fails with a warning lamp in the instrument cluster or a check control message in the Central Information Display. In some cases, the Dynamic Stability Control warning lamp (DSC) in the instrument cluster may also be illuminated. Failure of the power-assisted steering may be caused by various software-related issues. The following codes may be stored in the fault memory of the Electric Power Steering (EPS): Scenario 1: 0x4823E1 Scenario 2: 0x4823CB/0x4823CC Scenario 3: 0x4823D2 and/or 0x4823EC Scenario 4: 0x48239C (DSC warning lamp lights up in the instrument cluster) Scenario 5: No communication with the EPS is possible (not accessible using diagnostics) Scenario 6: 0x4823EE and 0x4823C2
