Electrical recall: On several occasions we have purchased, and fixed the BMW regulator on our 2006 BMW 325I. As of late the passenger window on the right side has become jammed and stuck and started rolling down on its own. In addition, the driver and passenger side view mirrors have also incurred the same issue. Along with the passenger door that will no longer open, without have to manually unlock, and lock once exiting the vehicle. I am afraid something else with the electrical system will occur. Safety is everything, especially with a second baby on the way. So here we have a window that is not rolling up at all. I'm unsure if I showed allow more work to be done, due to the fear of having the same issue occur repeatedly. Thanks in advance ! I look forward to a response.

My car was parked for a brief time and then, just before I was about to start my car, I noticed smoke coming from the glove box and when I blew on it, a fireball came out and the whole car went up in flames. Just a few days before, I had problems with my air-conditioning and had prior electrical issues that I had checked out at a BMW repair shop.

The contact owns a 2006 BMW 325I. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17V676000 (electrical system); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer (a&L BMW, 3780 william penn hwy, monroeville, pa 15146) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-525-7417 and stated that they would call the contact. The contact had not received any calls from the manufacturer. A case number was not provided. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall. The front passenger seat sensor in my 2006 BMW is defective making the passenger airbags turned off during the event of a crash when car is on or running airbag and seatbelt light turn on. Many other 2006 bmws like mine are affected with this issue. A recall has been done for bmws for models 2007 and newer but not for the 2006 model year. A recall needs to be done for this year make to insure the safety of people and passengers riding in this car. I use this car as a daily driver with my 5 year old daughter. While driving car will intermittently and briefly experience full electronic outage causing the instrument cluster, vehicle lights, and electronic steering column lock to engage. As soon as the electronic power returns service lights display on the dashboard until I stop, fully power off the vehicle with the ignition button and restart the car. This has all happened at driving speeds ranging between 15 and 70 mph, fortunately while driving straight. If I or anyone else would happen to be in a turn and the electronic steering wheel lock engage the results could potentially be life threatening. This vehicle is a prior dealer lease then sold to a rental company then purchased by me. The vehicle remains unmodified and has beeb maintained and serviced with all oem or equivalent parts.

Car caught on fire in the garage 2 1/2 hours after parking. Total loss of car with damage to garage. Started in the very front engine area under the hood. Was burned so badly they could not say exactly how it started. Fire marshall suspected was due to possible cooling fan shortage. No one was around the car at the time the fire started. After reading of multiple BMW fires, I wanted to report ours also.

The right-side back window of my 325I 2006 BMW slipped down and does not roll back up using the electic button. First, it started going half way and suddenly went all the way down into the door. The car was not moving. I simply wanted the window slightly open. This is a window I very seldom use. I was told by mechanics that work on BMW's, that this is a factory defect on this series and it is happening a lot on this series. The cost to fix it is about $300. This is a defect the BMW company should be responsible for fixing. The buyer should not be responsible for their defects.

The fuses for the door locks blew for some reason which made the passenger front and rear doors inoperatible basically trapping passengers in the car. The doors would not unlock using the main door lock or pulling the door handle once to unlock and twice too open and exit the car.

Was having a series of electrical problems and codes pop up and my vehicle. Including the airbag light aluminate. I popped the trunk to find the battery terminal melted. I took my car into the mechanic and they informed me that there was a recall on battery terminals. Although the recall if she from cars 2007 to 2011 my 2006 BMW exhibits the exact problems that I have read about.

The fire department extinguished the fire and filed a report. The passenger sustained burns to the hand, which required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

This vehicle has an electronic lock out on the steering wheel that prevent the steering from unlocking as the operator attempts to start the engine. The code read out to be A115 or A116. This is a known issue and BMW has not been asked by NHTSA to recall. Please works with BMW to remedy this faulty on their design. The following design was removed from steering column as BMW known this is a problem from start. This problem occurs while the vehicle is in park and refuses to release the steering column.

Electronic steering wheel lock malfunctions without notice and renders the car incapable of starting. A yellow steering wheel icon (or red in some instances) appears in the informational panel on the dashboard. The accompanying error code is cc-id 187. This condition when it occurs, will not energize (disables) the ignition system and prevents the car from being started. Drivers will become stranded wherever they happen to be once the car is turned off as the error notification appears only when the car is switched off or back on. There are literally hundreds of similar and identical cases on the internet when performing a google search on this issue.

I own a 2006 BMW 325I. About a year or two ago, the reverse lights will not illuminate while reversing. I took the vehicle to the dealership, explained the problem, and mentioned multiple online accounts of this problem extending at least from 2003 through 2008. It could have been longer. I also referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 11V438000 (exterior lighting:turn signal) and NHTSA id number: 10443539 (tail light failure). The dealer advised me that this vehicle year was not included in any recall campaign for this problem. In addition, the dealer advised that the frm module needed to be replaced due to a wiring malfunction. From online reports and pictures, I confirmed my reverse light failure was also a wiring issue caused from a very poor wire routing design by BMW. The failure mileage was at approximately 110,000 and the cost to repair was outrageous! since that time even with multiple documented cases, BMW has been unwilling to admit this is their design failure and to share in any of the repair costs.

Pass. Restraint system fault message. Few days went by with this fault message coming on and off. Now its currently staying on. After searching on the web, I've found many other BMW owners with the same issue, but only a few models are covered under recall (08V384000). After search my (VIN) show no current recalls. Recall (08V384000) states 2006 year 3-series. How can this only be limited to some 2006, but not others with the same problems? vehicle has around 86K miles. Thanks

BMW 3 series, 2006, E90 body type. After inserting the key in the contact all power went off. I experienced twice such complete loss of power, for the entire vehicle: Engine, doors, lights and even the key cannot be removed from contact. Once I touched the battery with a voltmeter and measured the voltage (that was perfect) the power came back. Though after the power was restored while driving to dealership the car started to behave erratically, windshield wipers starting by themselves, radio turning on and off, noise in the back of the car ( either speakers or electric). Dealership diagnosis identified the connector on power cable between the battery and the engine as the cause of the total power loss. The cable connector appears to be almost entirely corroded. Incidentally this very cable was subject of BMW voluntary recall but only for vehicles manufactured after 2007 ( rcdnn-13V044-8968(1).pdf ). though in my case it appears to be the other end of the same cable that is outside of the car body, exposed to corrosion. The part number cable subject of the recall appears to have been installed also on 2005 and 2006 BMW 3xx models though they were not included in the recall.

Driver side door lock does not unlock from inside the car using door handle or lock/unlock button in dash or fob unlock button. Inability to open doors in the case of fire, accident, or emergency can cause injuries or death to driver. BMW discontinue the part numbers for driver and passenger side and suggest in the service manual in case of front doors locks failure (either one or both doors) to replace driver and passenger side door lock laches with new part numbers. Old part numbers 51217202143 and 51217202146; new part numbers 51217229458 and 51217229455.

My BMW does not fall into the recall that BMW published. After several lights appeared in my dash (airbag, brake, seatbelt) I had the disnostic tool looked up and received a fault code 93C3 seat occupancy detector, passenger. Looking on the web this seems to be a common problem.

Steering wheel lock prevents the starter from working. This prevents the engine from starting. I will have to replace the steering column which will cost over one thousands dollars. BMW has not issued a recall for this problem
