Takata recall. I've been trying since March 2016 to get my local dealership to replace my defective airbag, as outlined in my recall notice. I have been patient, and now my patience is up. I no longer want this dangerous airbag in my car, and since I have waited two years its time to replace it now. Can you help?

I have contacted the dealer for months trying to get a replacement airbag installed. I have received numerous letters in the mail saying they have the parts but once I go to make an appointment there are never any replacement parts available. This does not make it seem safe to drive. How do I get my repair done? thank you

Takata recall 1. BMW sent me recall notice in March 2016, with no follow up repair implementation as of Nov. 2017 = 1.5yrs since the initial recall notice = unreasonably long? 2. when I go to safercar.gov / airbag recall.com & check my VIN, my car does not show up w/ airbag inflator recall (it shows up for blower motor wiring recall, but that's it). Maybe I'm missing something?

Takata recall. I received the recall notice in the mail in February 2017. I contacted the BMW dealer (North scottsdale BMW, scottsdale AZ) and was told the part was not available and we would be contacted when it was received. We followed up April and were told the same thing. The car was then relocated to Alabama in May. In June we contacted the local BMW dealer (mobile BMW) and were told the same story. We followed up in September and were told, again, the part is not available. This is really bad given the safety concerns involved. It is now 8 months since receiving the original recall notice and we still have a potential deadly issue that BMW dealers in two states are consistently ignoring.

Takata recall I was involved in a motor vehicle accident on 10/1/2016. I had a friend drive my car while I rode in the passenger seat. My friend ended up driving into the back of another vehicle at a stop light. We were driving approximately 30 mph. Unfortunately, my forearm and wrist broke after the air bags deployed and hit me. I remember chewing metal debris. I remember the pain that radiated from my wrist to my elbow because of the airbags impact. I underwent surgery 2 weeks later (I had to wait for the swelling to subside) I had 2 plates, 18 pins, and 11 screws inserted. My wrist will never be the same again. I feel as though the airbags did more damage than good. Attached is the police report, pictures, and a copy of my surgeon's instructions after surgery.
