The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The contact owns a 2015 BMW 528I. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he smelled a burning odor through the vents. An unknown warning light was intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with coolant intrusion into the engine which caused the PCV valve to overheat. The contact was informed that the PCV valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.
