The contact owns a 2005 BMW X3. The contact stated that the front passenger air bag light would constantly illuminate on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. The VIN was unavailable.

Airbag warning light illuminated and will not turn off. BMW diagnosed problem as failure of passenger seat mat sensor. Now passenger airbag status lamp will not turn off.

Safety restraint air bag passenger side safety light intermittent signal remains on, when a passenger is seated in seat weighing over 40 pounds. Driver dash board indicates the safety restraint air bag is not on when passenger over 40 pound is seated in passenger seat. The safety airbag light indicates the passenger air bag will not deploy.
