Very unhappy that GM refuses to admit their is a fault with the transmissions of the 2008 Enclave.

Will not cover it saying it is no longer under warranty. It will cost over 3000 dollars to repair. I think G M should man up and take responsibility and recall all 2008 enclave.

well here I am again - previously my enclave has been in / out dealership at least 15x since I bought in 2008. too many problems to discuss. Nice looking car - but doesn't seem to run the way a good solid vehicle should. Dealership never believed me that there was problems... I felt like my suv was at the dealership more than I drove it. Now it still doesn't accelerate (it actually slows down on the highway and then kicks in at going up to 20 mph faster ) It clinks and then drives... a burning smell. I drove my daughter to boyfriends turn around in their driveway and put in park, she got out I went to put into drive nothing, put into neutral it rolled backwards. I let it sit for 20min, then got back in car it actually started and put in drive and it went forward. I didn't drive it too afraid... GM really needs to get their act together and sell a decent car that will not make you feel unsafe. too much money and tooooo short of a warranty time frame.. not a HAPPY CUSTOMER.... so tired of all the problems... I am stressed out and sick about it. I complained and call the HQ and they said to talk to customer service... nothing happens except to tell us to go to dealership and get fixed....

I've had the vehicle for 4 years and have put 35000 miles on it since. I barely drive it and have had to replace the transmission already! Mechanic at delearship first said they coudlnt replicate the problem but after i explained that the vehicle jerks when you go reverse only after you've been driving it for a bit, they were able to duplicate it. It turns out they said I had low and reverse piston damage, internal leakagedamaged oil pressure switch, etc. They could not explain how or why this would happen just that it happens. I'm so upset with GM! A barely used 4 year old car should not have transmission damage!! GM has stuck me with this Lemon!!

Enclave

  • Automatic transmission

/16/11 Enclave broke down after leaving Eagle, side of the road @ FAMSI across from

Eagle. When I brought the Enclave in on Friday to ask Eagle to evaluate what was wrong with the transmission, Terry told me Ron said Eagle was NOT going to help because we put too many miles on it. We bought it with 63,998 miles and it now has approximately 87,000.

• 9/21/11 Chuck from ‘Chuck’s Car Care Center’ called Eagle because he was able to look-

up that the car had a power-train warranty & numerous “Technical Service Bulletins’.” Eagle had to tow the car back to the dealership, pay for a car rental, and repair. All week I have to drive my husband to work @ 5:30 am and then return to home, get my kids off to school and then go to work because we only had a single vehicle. The evening wasn’t much better because we have 2 children and many after school activities.

Was out of town but found a local dealership and they took care of everything. Nobody can explain what might have caused the problem. No previous tranmission problems of any type.

I am in Canada, so everything below is CND$.

I noticed some jerking first. The rev went up to ~3000 and then gear shifted. Two days later, the transmission couldn't get out of 1st gear. Dealer said the TCM reported internal failures and best option is to replace it. Repair may cost more and warranty is worse They quote a GM refurbished tranny with 3 years P+L warranty, ~$4260+tax. Right, we pay 13% of tax here. After complaining, they gave me $4250 all included. I am hoping... Is there a hope?
