This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have Malfunction Indicator Lamp on or Service Charging System message. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P1EAB, P1B33, P1B34, P1B35, P1B36, P1B37, P1B38, and or P1B39. If Service Information diagnostics lead to the replacement of the Battery Energy Control Module, technician should not replace the entire Powerpack or the Battery Energy Control Module. The Battery Energy Control Module should be Service Programming System programmed with the latest software available.
