This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have Service Engine Soon on, a “Service Transmission Now, Unable to Shift Soon” message or possibly the vehicle will not shift out of park at times. Technician will find Diagnostic Trouble Code P07BE or P17F3 in the Chassis Control Module. Technician will need to update the Chassis Control Module with the latest software available in Tis-2-Web. If the vehicle returns or the vehicle was built after the build date shown technician is directed to test for terminal concerns and is advised that an updated shift lever knob is being worked on by engineering.
