- the contact owns a 2000 Buick Lesabre. The contact complained that the power windows failed. While driving at 55 mph he heard a snap in the doors and the windows came down, he tried to power them back up but it did not work. The contact stated that this happened to all four windows at different times. The serpentine belt was replaced due it squealing. Updated 01/31/07.

Left passenger window dropped down, regulator needs to be replaced; this is a pretty obvious malfunction of the regulators since what it holds the glass is a very delicate plastic part. I have done so much research about the same problems with this type of issues from model's years ranging 2000-2004. Nothing seems to be done to solve or better improve the part that causes the window glass to drop down.

Front passenger window does not operate. Rear driver's side window does not operate. Safety issue with children in car etcetera. Window dropping down without warning. Dealer stated there is a "wide range" of window issues with the Buick Lesabre model 2000-2005. No dealer recall issued. $600 for repair - many complaints all over the internet. GM/Buick should recall parts.

Power window failure. Back driver's side window would not close after being opened. This is the fourth window regulator which had to be replaced on this vehicle. Every window regulator has been replaced at the Buick dealership. The cost for each incident is over $300. Asked service technician if a redesigned part or the same parts were being used. They stated the same parts were being used and this is biggest problem with these vehicles. What upsets me the most is the regulators over time will have to be replaced again. The same defective parts are being used. Buick knows this is an issue but has done nothing about it.

2000 Buick Lesabre, automatic window regulator/motor failed on two windows and was replaced for cost of 400. Per window. Understand that this defect is known by Buick but was never recalled. It's a shame that an otherwise good vehicle has this fault which is quite costly and widespread. We got vehicle from relatives estate, when we got the car we found out that a window motor had been previously replaced. Could be hazardous if children are in back seat and window drops down unexpectedly, which is what happens.

Power window problems. Noise was heard when lowering and one knew something was wrong. Window would not raise back up. One window would jerk when lowering; it would not lower smoothly (rear passenger window). Driver and passenger front window regulators and rear passenger regulator had to be replaced out of original manufacturer warranty. In both front window incidents on repair order it was stated that the regulator cable was broken not allowing window to move up. Incidents did not all happen at the same time.

I have owned my 2000 Buick Lesabre limited for about 6 months and I have had 3 window regulators go out and I don't hardly use the power windows. It's a cheap plastic part in the assembly that causes the problem. An estimated price of $500 to fix I've decided to let them stay up as to getting them fixed with the same faulty parts does not guarantee they will not break or fail again.

Power window controls: All 4 windows failed between Aug 2004 and May 2006. There are already 104 registered complaints in this database for this issue on this car model. The manufacturer has issued tech bulletins to dealers but will not acknowledge the publics' requests for remuneration. Dealerships charge between $400-$600 to repair each window, and the repair may also fail.

Purchased new 2000 Buick Lesabre. On Oct 4, 2001 the front right and left windows got stuck. Both window regulators were replaced under factory warranty. On Mar 03, 2003 the right front window regulator and locking rod had to be replaced again. After warranty expiration, both rear windows got stuck on same day and both window regulators had to be replaced, this time at my expense. Currently the right front window is again getting stuck intermittently. This window has not been repaired again at this time.
