We were slowing to make a left turn when we lost all power we coasted to the curb and when I tried to start it there was a clicking as if it was a low battery. After a few minutes it started but ran rough but was able to get it home a few blocks away. Had it towed to a dealer and they could not find the problem. A week later it happened two more times and was able to get to the dealer who could find no problem. We had no more problems for four months and then it happened again. We took it to the dealer for the fourth time and again they could not find anything. We have contacted G.M. customer svc. Twice and Buick customer svc. Who have opened a case file [xxx]. and suggested we contact a Buick dealer in Oregon when we get home. We live in Oregon and spend winters in calif. Slow speed steering feels like something is catching, makes noise and does not feel right. Contacted dealer and they said there is a problem with the steering shaft but there is no recall on it so it would cost $300 plus to have it fixed, this is a GM defect from the factory that is common to the 2006 Lucerne and needs to have a recall before someone gets in a bad accident.

My vehicle pulls to the right. It has done this since I purchased the car last summer. Before I bought it the dealership put new tires and aligned the vehicle. It still slightly pulled to the right and has worsened since. I have called the dealer 3 times since to check for recalls or get their opinion about if the alignment should be checked again. I am afraid it is causing uneven wear on my new tires and it is quite irritating.

My 2006 Lucerne with V-6 engine has 80,000 miles on it. Recently it has developed a pronounced "bump} in the steering when I drive slowly in my driveway or in a parking lot. I have inspected the tie rods and other linkage under the car but see or feel nothing obviously amiss. My local tire store said this is characteristic of several GM cars he services. He said the problem is a worn plastic bushing in the steering column mechanism. Also, the instrument panel gauges are virtually impossible to read in the daytime!

A puddle appeared in the driveway where the 2006 Buick Lucerne is parked. The puddle looked like power steering fluid and after getting under the car, a power steering leak was detected. I searched on the NHTSA website and found that there was a recall on the 2006 Buick Lucerne with a V8 engine which said that the power steering hose connectors were improperly installed which would cause a leak. I called Buick about this and they said that my car was not part of this recall even though it meets the year, make, and model requirements and has the exact same problem the recall is for.

The contact believes that this is a manufacturer defect, but the manufacturer is refusing responsibility. The failure mileage was 45,000 and current mileage was 72,000.

Purchased 2006 Buick Lucerne, June 24,2006 from scott Buick, of pinellas park, fl. We drove it down the road 4 miles and turned back to return it to dealer. The steering was pulling to the right real bad. Dealers service dept checked the mechanics of the steering and could find any reason for the pulling to the right. Released it to us on June 26, and after a couple miles down the road we promptly returned again to the dealer. They looked for a GM bulletin regarding this problem this time, they serviced it according to the bulletin spec's, on the 28th. That did not correct the problem totally this makes 3 times it was in service for this problem. The steering problem still exist as of today July 22, 2006 this should be considered a safety problem with the auto.
