Summary
This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician to check the intermediate steering shaft boot for being out of position at the cowl if there is a complaint of excessive road or engine noise in the passenger compartment. Most of the time this boot is out of position, reposition the boot and ensure it is fully seated and reevaluate for the concern.
