This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a grunt or buzz noise heard from the steering column area when the Ignition is turned on and again when the Ignition is turned off and the driver door is opened. Technician will need to have the Steering Column Lock actuator several times while listening to the column lock actuator cycle. Technician will replace the Steering Column Lock actuator if the locking is much louder the unlocking.
