For the second time in about one month, the engine died and electric power went out (dashboard lights). The car restarted without difficulty when I pulled off the road and put it into park. We received a recall notice on this vehicle in August. After the first incident I carefully checked the battery cables and found nothing wrong. The battery is almost new. After getting the recall notice I checked the operation of the ignition switch and I found that the detent works perfectly. I had turn the key ccw by a large amount to turn off the engine and no amount of jiggling would cause the fault. Two different keys were involved in the two episodes. There is no possibility that my failures are related to weight hanging on the key.even so I asked the local dealer as well as the GM hotline when they can install the "fixes" and I was told that no parts may be available for months. About two weeks ago a person on the GM hotline promised to find a dealer with parts and call me back but did not do so. I have no confidence that GM will solve my problem with their recall fix, if and when it is executed, and fear that there is another common cause for the many failures that have been reported.

A recall letter was sent to me, I contacted to GM to let them know their recall was a little too late and luckily I was not on the road when this happened I was in a store parking lot when this occurred. I experienced complete loss of brakes, steering and electrical. I thought it was a battery issue. I purchased a new battery. I had to carry the battery 3 miles each way, it was not the battery.car was towed, repairs were found to be ignition problem and a module needed to be replaced, costing over $800, how do I get reimbursed for this" GM said they would get back to me and its been 3 weeks, I have heard nothing. I would appreciate your help. I have all the receipts and had we been told of the recall a big expense might of been saved, how do I get some sort of claim form to get reimbursed"

I was driving at approximately 60 mhp on I77 North - without notice of any kind it became very difficult to steer my vehicle and I lost control as well as all power & acceleration. All of this happened so fast but I looked down and noticed several dash board/warning lights on. These lights normally only go on for a second or so when starting the car. Having no power or acceleration I was able to navigate my car to the side of the road with out an accident but immediately noticed that my ignition was already turned off. The ignition key was not all the off - just in the position as if I was parked and wanted to listen to the radio. Once pulled over I placed the car in "park" turned the key all the way off and restarted the car. It started right up. However, now both my "service engine soon light" and "air bag" light stays illuminated at all times. They do not go out once the car is started. I am not able to notice any difference in the performance or handling at this time but am concerned with the lights remaining on at all times when driving as well as the safety of the air bags.

Car purchased 10/16/2003 with 15200 mileage. Left rear door regulator failed. This door could not have been used in 9 years more than 20-25 times. Dealer, royal Cadillac, charged $694.95 for replacement. I complained to Cadillac, requesting reimbursement, and they refused. Research indicates that door regulator failures on this make and model were well known and published many years ago. Given the little useage of this door (we are senior citizens and rarely have rear seat passenders) I believe this defect to exist at the time of purchase.

3 window regulators proven defective since owning 2003 Cadillac Deville. #1 drivers window on 9/17/08 done under warranty at 31,000 miles; #2 front passenger window done 11/13/10 @ 52,000 miles cost $356 at dealer; #3 drivers side rear passenger window regulator on 6/8/11 @60,000 milesreplaced-cost $502 contacted Cadillac customer service, received a case # and was told that since car is out of warranty there will be no reimbursement for repair costs. Several customer comments to Cadillac customer service by other owners of similar model and year have same problems and needed replacements of several regulators. Gov't Agency should explore this problem and have Cadillac re-examine reimbursements for repairs of this problem with 2003 and 2004 Cadillac Deville.

: the contact stated while parking the vehicle, there was a loss of all electrical power. The vehicle would not restart and was towed to a local dealership. The dealer determined the ignition fuse had blown and it was replaced. Afterwards, the vehicle was towed back to the dealer three additional times for the same problem. The service department replaced the ignition, instrument cluster panel, and the electrical door panel, but the problem continued.
