The headlights on my 2012 Cadillac Srx are extremely dim and the vehicle is not safe to drive at night. This is the same issue that other drivers throughout the U.S. have experienced with this make and model car. See https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2019/Cadillac-Srx-headlight-recall-lawsuit.shtml. I currently have the car in for service and was quoted $1700 to replace both headlight assemblies, which I have reluctantly agreed to pay since I have no other alternative. I do not understand why GM has not issued a recall for this problem since it is a serious safety issue when driving at night. Fortunately, I have 2 vehicles so I try to avoid driving the Cadillac Srx at night.

The low beam headlights are very very dim, I thought they were burned out. The brights are fine. The care is unsafe to drive at night. Was informed by dealer this is a common complaint and it would be $1400 to correct the issue (replace the headlight assemblies new bulbs will not make a difference).

1. low beams head lights very weak had the lens buffed and polished but this only help a little. Having to use high beams when driving at night on single and two lane roads. Very unsafe night driving. 2. rear tail gate closes automatically after being opened for about 2 seconds, this action is subject to cause injury to persons using the rear gate to store or remove items from vehicle. Both issues occur whether vehicle is stationary or in motion. I see there is no recall issued for these safety issues but in my opinion there should have. I am submitting this on the behalf of my daughter. I entered a date because the digital form required it but these issues have been going on for quite some time now, not sure of the first occurrence. Thanks for any help concerning this safety issue. (xxxx) redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Biggest problem with this vehicle is the headlights in the dim setting. It is almost impossible to see the road in this mode. Have changed to bulbs to the most expensive I can get with no better results. I have read many forums with the same complaint how does this go on without getting recalled, huge safety issue. The issue with stability track is has to be set every few months

Low beam headlights are very, very dim. Have replaced both sides with new halogen bulbs. Results no good. Then replaced with hid headlamp system. Still have dim light driving problem. I am very tired of removing the whole front clip to replace the bulbs and so was wondering if GM has a recall of any sort on the headlight system. Very frustrating....beautiful car, but you can't drive after dusk!!

Headlights when on dim are soooo dim that I have trouble seeing the highway... called Cadillac dealer... instructed to call Cadillac people... said he has had several complaints with the same problem and to call Cadillac to get on a formal complaint list to see if they would pay for expense, but I have to first pay for diagnostics... $125...I purchased this car because it had low miles and it was a little above my price range as I am a disabled grandmother and have to drive 50 miles one way every week to pick up my grand daughter for weekend visits... I purchased the car in may and have had no issues till now because it has been light outside when I have driven the car... well now it is getting darker earlier and I almost had to pull over because I was having problems seeing the highway in certain places... I decided to google the issue and see that hundreds of people have complained of the same issue... some were even pulled by the law and not allowed to drive the vehicle any further... I just don't understand how the federal government or whomever is in charge of highway safety can allow this to not be taken care of by Cadillac or GM... I fear for the safety of my family...buying new headlights will not fix the issue...its like the dim lights are not wired correctly or its grounding out...people have reported that they had the whole light system replaced only to have the same problem... I don't have money to pay for such an expense nor should I be required to... Cadillac should be ashamed...I understand that there is a class action lawsuit against Cadillac for this very reason... is there not anything yall can do? spent all my money on a vehicle that I'm afraid to drive after 5...

The low beam headlights on our 2012 Cadillac Srx are so dim they are unsafe and prevent the vehicle from being driven at night unless high beams can be used. GM is aware of the issue and has provided no fix, other than replacing the headlight assembly with the same faulty version.

The low beam headlights are so dim as to not be able to be used after dark. High beams are required to safely drive at night thus blinding oncoming traffic or risking being ticketed. This is discussed in numerous forums. - gmauthority.com/blog/topic/dim-low-beam-headlights-on-Srx/ https://www.carcomplaints.com/Cadillac/Srx/2012/lights/low_beams_very_dim.shtml https://www.cadillacforums.com/threads/low-beams-too-dim.920081/

Approximately 3 years ago I spoke with my Cadillac dealer regarding the head lights. They checked the car and said they were fine. The lights are so dim at night that it appears you do no have lights on. The dealer recommended putting led lights in, that did not help. I replaced the original bulbs and that also did not help. The lights are so dim at night that I have to use the high beams to drive at night. It is impossible to see the road or side of the road when driving on a road with no marked lines. This is a huge safety issue!! again today I spoke with the dealer, and they still have no resolution to the problem.

Exterior lighting/head lamps replaced: Cost $1163.53 I had to replace factory headlights at this high cost due no other way to fix dimmed low beam lights. I am requesting a refund. Car dealer informed me my VIN has not appeared on the lawsuit reimbursement. My life and others were just a white line away from a major accident while could have been deadly. I need help in getting a refund. My date of repair was 10/25/18 in Alabama. I had been a nervous wreck driving at night in the city where I live and on the county roads near my house. Heaven helped me when it rained could not see with my lights so I had to keep up with the traffic to use other cars lights. Frightening! does any one care about the safety of us who are driving these Cadillac's? like others I experienced the same terror. When a I took my car to the dealer I was told several warranties does not cover the dim lights. Owners have to pay and request reimbursement. A lawsuit was won in April affecting these SUVS and owners were encouraged to file. My VIN is not on yge list. They told me to keep checking and to file with NHTSA. My most frightening night was driving on the interstate besides 18 wheelers. I could not see after they passed on by and other trucks were approaching me. Scared to death because it was hard to stay in my lane. 50 miles was too long to endure this headache and I have hypertension...bad combination. The light had been going dim for a couple of months so I thought I could just hi and replace the bulbs, oh but no the entire assembly had to be replaced at a high cost so I charged it on my credit card.

The contact owns a 2012 Cadillac Srx. While driving at night, the low beam headlamp illumination was inadequate to drive safely. The contact stated that the low beam headlights only projected between 12-15 feet ahead. The vehicle was taken to ken batchelor Cadillac (located at 11001 I-10, san antonio, tx 78230, (210) 690-0700) where it was diagnosed that both headlamps needed to be replaced at a cost of approximately $1,800. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

Low beam headlights are not effective for safe navigation at night. I noticed this several months ago and checked for any recall notices. I found that Florida and one other state have recognized this defect and issued a recall for repairs to be paid by GM. I have had several close calls while driving at night because the headlights are unsafe! please consult with GM and issue a recall on Cadillac Srx headlights.

The low beam headlights on my 2012 Cadillac Srx go dim. Extremely poor visibility at night. Already replaced once through dealer during warranty period. Had to later replace the passenger light again cause it went out. Now both lights are almost "O" visibility at night. GM did not send me a recall letter alerting me about the defect. It was found to be a defect of this particular model from 2010 - 2015. Yet, GM has kept it quiet. GM needs to make good on this since it has known about it and did not recall it. I should not have to pay for a defect which is no fault of my own and it is a dangerous hazard on the road for me and others when a vehicle does not have sufficient lighting visibility.
