By February 2017 we noticed the headlights were dim and malfunction, leaving us in fear they will fail while driving at night, which caused the SUV to stay parked at night unless absolutely needed. One night, coming back from airport we pulled off the road and saw the low-beam headlights had completely failed, we had to drive home with the lamps in "bright" mode.the outside inspection indicated -exterior headlight housing units wear out and deteriorated, causes headlight problems that include failure of the bulbs due to corrosion of the components such as the igniters, in addition to electrical shorts that occur dim light. It is very dangerous to drive at night without having my bright lights on.

The normal headlights (not the high beams) are so, so, so dim even with brand new bulbs, the car is incredibly dangerous to drive at night. Almost caused 2 accidents. This is a known problem of the headlight assembly housing which deteriorates on the inside (presumably caused by the moisture getting in and ruining the inside of the housing so that very little light from the bulbs can make it out). Do a google search. There are hundreds of customers experiencing this same exact issue. Spoke to Cadillac and they said they are only fixing it for people in ca and fl (they were sued for this issue in both those states) but refuse to help anyone from any other state. Someone is going to die in an accident. This is extremely, extremely dangerous situation. There are also youtube videos showing it and pages and pages of forum posts about it from people who almost died because of it. I hope NHTSA and/or GM does the right thing before lives are lost.

The headlights on the 2013 Cadillac are seriously dim. It is an extreme hazard to drive this vehicle at night without using the high beam head lights. With low beams headlights, I am at risk of accident or injury. With high beam headlights, I will put other drivers at risk of accident or injury. How has this issue not been handled by NHTSA by now? if NHTSA is truly "people helping people", getting this issue addressed by Cadillac should be easy. Bulbs have been replaced and made little or no difference. Headlight replacement is well over a $1,000 at dealer. New headlights will also start to deteriorate as soon as they are used due to a design flaw in the lights. We bought this car used in 2016 and started to notice how dim the headlights were becoming. Everywhere we turn, there has been no remedy offered.

We notice our highlights was very dim for months I called the Cadillac dealership in fort walton beach Florida and spoke to someone in their service department, that service person claimed he knew nothing about a recall on the headlights then when I told him there is a class actions lawsuit on the headlights problem he put me on hold then when he got back on the line he knew about the problem and told me to bring in my Cadillac and they would work out something March 7, 2019 we took our Cadillac to Cadillac dealership in fort walton beach we spoke with nick in their service department he told us there was a block on the warranty for the headlights issued that Monday, March 4, 2019. And they didn't know why. Our Cadillac is still under the bumper to bumper warranty until April 2019 next month! but nick said there isn't anything they can do and he will try and find out why there was a block placed on the headlights. Monday, March 4, 2019. We was given the report called 'workbench' we spoke with nick March 8, 2019 david a manager at Cadillac fort walton beach called us and said he received a letter from GM that they would pay up to sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600) but we would have to pay for the repairs out of our pocket then would be reimbursed but because there is a block on it they can't do that either and his regional manager and a district manager are looking into why there is a block on the headlights repairs. On Monday, March 11, 2019 david said he would email us a copy of the letter which has the information about the pay upfront sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600) for our records because we never received that letter or any information about the faulty headlights. At this time we have not been given any indication the problem will be fixed!

Low beam headlights are so dim it is unsafe to drive at night. In order to see high beams are required which is also unsafe for other drivers approaching. There must be a solution to this from Cadillac. This has been an ongoing issue. I cannot drive this vehicle at night safely.

The headlights on this vehicle are so dim at night its dangerous. When on a dark road sometimes I wonder if the headlights are even on. My husband drives on a dark road full of wildlife and the way the head lights are he will never see one if it runs in front of him at night. This needs to be recalled and fixed now! and not at the owners expense, its a Cadillac for goodness sakes!

Purchased vehicle from local dealer. After purchasing I noticed headlights were very dim. I had them replace the light bulbs. Within 3 months I'm back to not being able to see at all. Took to the dealer and was told this was a known problem and that's the way they were and to call Cadillac customer service. No results. They want even acknowledge there was a defect. After finding the lawsuit in California and Florida. Still no help. At this time I cannot drive the car after dark and Cadillac and the dealer refuse to help. There is no fix and this is a defect with Cadillac. Someone is going to get killed and there to blame.

My wife and I own a 2013 Cadillac Srx and when we use the low beam headlights they don't provide enough illumination to allow us to see the highway, forcing us to use the high beams but we have to switch back to low beams when we approach a vehicle or come within a couple car lengths behind. I have been on the internet reading about how this has been an ongoing problem with this model Cadillac. This is my first Cadillac and I will have to say will be my last. Supposedly all dealers are forcing the owners to absorb the repair cost themselves ($1500 to $1700) I have yet to take my vehicle back to the dealer and doubt seriously if my extended warranty with cost gard will do any good. I'm really surprised at the response that GM has taken on this very dangerous problem. We dread driving the car at night, we are constantly having to drive with our high beams on. Would you please investigate this problem

Both headlights are so dim on low beam, it has became impossible to drive this car at night without having them on high beam. I have had problems with condensation developing on the inside of the head lights since the car was purchased. I've tried brighter bulbs with no success.

The low beam headlights are extremely dim. I called a Cadillac dealer and they recognized and admitted it is a known problem but they do not have a way to repair it. They said they tried replacing the bulbs and other Srx's but it did not fix the problem. This is a serious hazard when driving at night and/or in inclement weather. I constantly have to drive with the high beams on. The car cannot be safely driven at night. Please investigate this problem and recommend a solution. This is a serious problem that affecting the safety drivers and others on the road. I think it is appalling that GM/Cadillac cannot provide a fix for this.

Headlights are hazy can not see anything while driving during the night. This could cause a bad accident. Popping noise on front driver side while car is running dealership says it was a loose axel nut. The dealership tried repairing it twice, still the same.

Driving at night is a nightmare, especially in the rain. Every night I have found myself struggling to see the road. I have to count on the rear lights of the vehicle ahead of me. Rural roads are the worse. I have a Cadillac because of the safety and well crafted engineering, but this safety issue is going to kill someone. Why isn't there a recall"?"

Lighting assembly is completely out on vehicle. I can only drive with bright lights on. I have went off the road several times, due to lighting. I have had several checks from Cadillac and was told I need to replace the entire lighting assembly, but is a waste because it will go out again in a couple of months.
