This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that the battery went dead or a "Shift to Park" message in the instrument cluster's Driver Information Center when shutting down the vehicle. Technician will need to inspect the shifter boot for sign of pinching. If there are signs of pinching replace the shifter boot with the part number in the parts catalog.
