My 2002 Avalanche failed the state inspection because the emergency brake would not hold. I never use the emergency brake and the inspector said the majority of the avalalache's that he checked have the same problem.

Parking/emergency brake has failed 3 times (pedal is soft, goes to floor, will not hold vehicle). Has been repaired by dealership twice, the second time with supposedly upgraded parts. Complaint pending with a.G.'s office. 8nlm

The emergency brake release handle is too low to the point where consumer cannot reach brake release handle, consumer has to release brake before getting into vehicle, contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.
