Takata recall - called my local Chevy dealership and was again told GM has not provided a fix/replacement for the defective airbag inflators. The dealership inform me I had to call GM customer satisfaction directly. I called GM customer satisfaction and was told that GM is internally conducting tests on the takata airbags and currently feel there is no "unreasonable" risk but they are still investigating and reviewing the situation. If the manufacturer (takata) has determined there is a defect and risk based on their airbag inflator design I want the inflator replaced and not run the risk that it falsely goes off causing physical harm or death to a passenger. The risk in GM's opinion might be low meaning their cost analysis between settling claims versus replacing the inflators in potentially millions of vehicles is driving their inaction. GM said if there is an update I can check their recall website and they would be sending out letters - this is the same thing they told me about a year ago and I've received no update from GM.

We received notice from tk holdings Inc. I called local dealership as notice indicated. Way brothers, 183 broad St hawkinsville, Georgia was told we could not read as the company is bankrupted and no repairs would be completed. We then called childe Chevrolet, 1-800-272-2277, where we purchased the vehicle and was told we would get a letter in the mail when parts to repair our vehicle would come in. Neither dealership sounded willing to repair our vehicle as the notice instructed. My husband was embarrassed at way brothers because he stated, " we must didn't read out notice correctly. " our compliant is the dealerships do not want to repair the vehicle. What can we do? thanks.

Takata recal: The recall has been going on for over a year now. Every time I call a GM service center they tell me they don't have parts to fix it yet. They don't know when they will have parts. They told me no ones vehicle has been fixed yet. This is a shame. I don't even want my kids in the truck. Why won't they step up and fix these airbags. I will never buy another Chevrolet. Are they waiting for people to get injured, die, or go away?

Takata recall it has been over a year since I received the recall notice with no remedy to date. While GM considers the vehicle safe to drive, the safety risk description states: "the propellant in some types of takata airbag inflators can degrade over time, especially after long term exposure in hot and humid regions. If the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries". this does not sound safe to me, especially since I live in sugar land, tx where there are long periods of high heat and humidity which effects the airbag degradation. Can anyone help finalize the situation and get this recall taken care of? thank you! [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).'
