Dashboard has significantly cracked in 2 places with no cause. Truck only has 39000 miles on it and is garaged all the time and does not sit in sunlight ever. Dealer denies any defect after multiple interactions.

Serious large cracks appearing in plastic dashboard, around airbag and instrument cluster above steering column.

2013 Chevy Avalanche with 100K miles has cracks in dashboard (on right just above air bag) and (on left just above instrument cluster)... happened overnight - one day fine / next day cracked... looks like a safety hazard to me.
- Tifton, GA, USA
Cracked dashboard on top of airbag. Safety issue if airbag deploys.
- Palm Coast, FL, USA
Cracked dashboard. Above instrument cluster and on right side by airbag. Vehicle is not driven hard or in 4X4 mode. Only about 7500 miles a year. Treated very well.

Takata recall: 2013 Chevy Avalanche ltz cracking and separating dashboard along with rattling around the passenger side airbag housing. Safety hazard !!
- Adrian, MI, USA
The dashboard cracked soon after I purchased the vehicle and the dealership said that it's not a safety issue for them to look into. It's such a distraction while driving when this shouldn't have happen being I bought this vehicle for the stand up value and reputation of Chevy. I got into my truck after being parked in my job parking lot after a long day at work and to come out to see my dashboard cracked. The quality of Chevy has to improve and this may cause accidents and not to mention the Chevy name to be tarnished cause the lack of concern for there dedicated customers.

I have 2 cracks in the dashboard of my 2013 Avalanche that seemingly appeared overnight. Much like the other complaints I've seen on this site, one crack is at the top corner of the passenger air bag and the other is on the driver side. I've been in contact with GM and they've offered to split the repair with me but my research indicates this might be a more wide spread issue. Opening this issue to hopefully bring more awareness to the situation. Vehicle has been either kept in a garage or had a thick window visor in the front window since I bought it new.
- Plano, TX, USA
The dash cracked overnight. There are now two big cracks in the dash of the vehicle, one on passenger side just above the airbag and another on the driver side, just to left of center above the main gauge cluster. I have read online that this is a known issue by General Motors for the 2013 Avalanche, as well as other models from that year and the few years previous. This vehicle is kept in the garage, has never been off road or been wrecked in any way. The dash itself is only wiped down with a damp cloth when truck is washed, and never has chemicals used on it. When the truck is not in the garage, a sun visor shield is placed in the front window at all times. This is a big safety issue, due to the fact that is compromises the integrity of the air bag and also can allow for flying debris in the case of an accident.
- Forney, TX, USA
Dash cracks in several places. Crack first appeared at 70,000 in August 2016. Shown to dealer who contacted GM and informed us that it was not a covered repair.
- Ellicott City, MD, USA
The dashboard has cracked in two different places near the airbags. I see online this is very common and Chevrolet doesn't seem to be very receptive to fixing this safety concern. I believe the cracks just happened overnight since I noticed them first thing in the morning on my way to work.
- Norwood, MA, USA
The window trim on the rear window has a known defect. The plastic frame of the window cracks and separates allowing water to enter the cab. GM is aware of the defect but is unwilling to replace what is clearly a design flaw.
- Olney, IL, USA
Leaking roof glass window seal. Had repaired 2 times still leaking, dealer said it can't be fixed and that there is a catch trim to send water to bottom of door. Concerned about rust around glass frame and water damage.
